With one month to go in 2022 the JConcepts race team shows no signs of slowing down! Read about our continued momentum on the track in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report at ROCCK Racing in Knoxville, TN. This past weekend they held their 9th Annual Toys For Tots race which saw over 150 entries! Leading the charge for the team was JC driver Jonah Wilson as he took the TQ and win in 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy, 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy and 1/8 Electric Truggy! All of his vehicles used Gold compound Ellipses plus S15 shells on the buggies, a F2 truck body and all three also used our new Razor wings.
Next, we head over to Badlands RC Supercross in Myrtle Beach, SC to see how the team finished up at their recent 21st Annual Fall Brawl which was just shy of 400 entries! Team driver Cade Burnette competed in the 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy, 1/8 Electric Buggy and 1/8 Nitro Truggy classes at this event and qualified straight into the A mains for all of them! In truggy he would run into some engine issues and have to drop out early and settle for 12th place while using a F2 truck lid, F2I wing and Blue compound Reflex rubber. His next main was e buggy and he would bounce back with a 4th place finish while running our S15 body, F2I wing and O2 compound ReHabs! The final main that weekend for Cade was Pro Nitro Buggy. He would lock up another 4th place finish while using a S15 body, F2I wing and Silver compound ReHab tires! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium in 5th place was fellow JC pilot Jake Stikeleather!
Also competing at this event was team driver Rusty Mihelich who brought out the entire family to race with him. Rusty would finish 11th in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 2nd overall in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class!
Maddy Long competed in three separate classes and finished 4th in 1/8 Intermediate Nitro Buggy, set the TQ and finished 2nd in the 15 and Under division and took the W in the 1/8 Intermediate Electric Buggy class!
Mylee Mihelich also competed in three classes and finished 3rd in the 15 and Under division, wrapped up the second podium spot in 1/8 Sportsman Nitro Buggy and took the victory in the 1/8 Sportsman Electric Buggy class!
Stacey Mihelich was able to bump her way into the C Main for 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy and finished 8th, and all of the drivers were running fast on Silver compound ReHabs glued to Bullet wheels!
Our next stop is at 997 RC Raceway in Waynesboro, PA. Team driver Matt Morris competed there last Saturday for Round 2 of their Dog Days Series. After the event had ended he would finish 3rd overall in the in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!
Now we fly back northwest to Brookfield, WI where Trackside Hobbies & Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their Toys For Tots event which saw 175 entries! Competing there for the team was JConcepts driver Richie Peters in two different classes. He would finish 6th in Mod 2wd Buggy and take the TQ and tone to tone win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Both cars were equipped with the following gear:
- F2 body
- Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
- Aero Front Wing
- Silver compound Dirt Webs sanded to slicks
- Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks
Crossing the stateline into the the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” we splash down at Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park MN. This past weekend they held their monthly points race and team driver Dustin Grandbois was there to compete in two different classes. He would finish 5th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and 4th place in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy! Both cars were dialed in using our Fuzz Bite tires on all four corners.
Also competing at this race was his fellow JC driver Joe Zaier Jr. in the same two classes. He would finish 11th in 13.5 wheeler and 4th overall in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy! Both rides used Fuzz Bites all the way around plus F2 lids in our lightweight option.
Now let’s head down to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was another round of their carpet series and team driver Chance Rohlk took the W in the Mod 2wd Buggy class plus a TQ and win in 13.5 4wd Buggy! Both vehicles utilized Fuzz Bite tires and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings and his wheeler also used a F2 body.
Also competing there for the team was fellow JC driver David Peavler in three separate classes. He would finish 4th in 17.5 2wd Buggy, 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and 2nd place in 13.5 4wd Buggy! All three of his bugs used Fuzz Bites glued to Mono wheels plus Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
Team driver Mike Sanders also raced at this most recent round in the 13.5 4wd and Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy classes. He would finish 4th in wheeler and took the victory in the 17.5 class while both cars used Fuzz Bites, Mono wheels and S2 shells!
Previously in the year we had to sadly report on a few tracks closing their doors for good, so this week we are glad to share with you the news of a new track opening! This past weekend the RC Pitstop & Raceway in Newton, KS opened its doors for their first club event and team driver Ken Peterson was ready to put down some laps.
He competed in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would finish 2nd overall while racing on Fuzz Bite rubber in both the front and rear!
Next, let’s shoot down to Texas for a few updates from the team competing at different tracks. Starting with team driver Seth Germany he recently competed at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in the city of Porter for their Toys For Tots Oval event.
Seth would compete in the Street Stock class and finish 2nd on the podium while using Green compound Double Dees up front with Flip Outs in the same compound in the rear!
Pivoting to Thornhill Racing Circuit in Hutto let’s check in with team driver Billy DiCorte Jr who just wrapped up competing in their Championship Series. After the points were calculated he would finish 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and be crowned the series champ in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!
For the finals his truggy used Blue compound Triple Dees, Bullet wheels, a F2 truck body and F2I wing. His e buggy used Green compound Detox tires, Bullet wheels, a Silencer shell and a F2I wing!
Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Kevin Mcnatt. This past weekend he competed at Indy RC World in Garland for Round 2 of their Winter Oval Series in the SC Mod class. He would finish with a TQ and win while using the following JC goodies!
- Green compound Sprinters on the left hand side
- Blue compound Sprinters on the right hand side
- 9-Shot wheels
- RM2 8th Scale Buggy | SCT Insert Bands
