With the conclusion of the 2022 Racing Season, we would like to recognize and thank all the racers and in particular the champions of the JConcepts INS and NCTS series events. The 4 race 2022 NCTS series concluded in October at Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park, Minnesota. The 5 race INS series finished up in early December at Hobby Action Raceway in Chandler, Arizona. Our 12 years of running of the INS has featured and promoted many superb champions over the years and this year was no different. The 4th year of the NCTS turned out record entry numbers on carpet as racers get accustomed to multiple surface conditions in the United States.
Broc Champlin, the 2021 NCTS champion continued his winning ways taking the modified 2wd and 4wd class championship on the Carpet and Turf series. Sammy Moran, a current ROAR champion, took his talents to many different states to claim the coveted 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd class championships. In the stadium truck class, Minnesota native, Kyle Holmberg emerged victorious after competing in 3 of 4 events in the stadium truck class.
Chuck Foote was the clear leader of our experienced 40+ 2wd buggy class taking the overall win. John Peters placed the SCT class on notice all season, to take a well-deserved series championship. Wrapping things up, Caelus Lo competed all year and won the independent 2wd class. The series took us to completely different facilities, different types of carpet and with one track on turf, the NCTS challenged even our most seasoned drivers.
On the INS series it would be Dakotah Phend, our 2021 champion, dominating the modified 2wd and 4wd championships. Dakotah’s speed earned him the championship early in the season and finishing just 1 point of a perfect season score. Brennan Schimmel was on a mission taking the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd championships on the various dirt tracks across the country. Will Brinton is our champion in the 13.5 stadium truck class with a stellar year competing against a strong podium of national competitors.
Another fine display of driving went to Alex Sturgeon who attended and took home the national championship in the 40+ 2wd buggy class. Brenden Edwards took his experience with the 13.5 SCT class and dominated, taking home the overall victory. During 2022, the independent classes were a huge success in each series, a record number of racers competed in the selection of classes and ultimately chose to compete for the championship. Our INS series produced a full field of independents and Andrew Thomas was officially the 2wd champion while a crowd favorite, Noah Ward, won the 13.5 independent championship.
We would like to extend a gracious thank you to all the tracks on our 2022 calendar as well as our amazing sponsors as listed below. Without their support, we would be unable to produce, broadcast, cover, and award these great events. Finally, a lot of gratitude to the drivers that take the opportunity to attend and compete across the country. We would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season and we hope to see you racing with us again in 2023!

I have been looking for the rules regarding the independent classes (13.5/17.5). Where do I find the rules for these classes?
The series follows ROAR rules. https://jconcepts.net/indoor-national-series
