In the front, winches were so popular and having a build-out capable of holding a powerful winch and to add glamour was a huge part of the custom truck experience. The F-style front bumper set incorporates a plate steel look with chrome finish on an injection molded part.

The plastic bumper is designed to work with bodies such as the JConcepts, 1979 Ford F-250 (#0305 / #0329), 1985 Ford F-250 (#0417), and 1982 GMC (#0381). These body shells have a flat or bumper-less front-end and it allows an easy way to bolt-on the new piece to take detailing to another level. One of the elements of the design, a trimline is added on top of the bumper within the diamond plate surface which can be removed to outfit the chrome plated piece with a mock front winch setup. In addition, JConcepts added a front winch guard that installs with included hardware for a complete look.

Another bonus, the JConcepts front bumper accepts the RC4wd front winch (not included) for those who want the function to go with the look, fit, and finish of the bumper set. A flashy rear bumper can be the difference between show and shine victory and defeat. The JConcepts rear bumper set which targets the late 1970’s to early 1980’s styling looks the part on a number of shells on the market. It’s necessary for the rear of the body to have a mounting area flat enough to accept the injection molded items and position the bumper just below the tailgate just like the real thing. Bodies such as the JC #0305 / #0329, #0417, #0381 are perfect and accept these new chrome plated goodies.

The two bumpers are very different, the angular corner bumper (1970’s style) appears more like a home-built piece with plated steel, chromed over with a diamond plate finish. Late 80’s F-Type Rear Bumper Set – Chrome

As the late 1980’s emerged, bumpers were getting classier, more durable, and lighter in weight. More detail is brought to the table with these JConcepts designed rear bumper options which are also chrome plated. The rear F-type, in all chrome, has the mock diamond plate look, consistent outer radius to blend into newer body styling. Another piece of jewelry to add to the truck is the option for a shiny, all-injection molded grille with deep detail which can be installed inside the JConcepts 1989 Ford F-250 body (#0302). Users can trim out the polycarbonate material on the body, add some double-sided tape to the side mounting plates and stick to the inside of the body. The chrome plated grille shines through and places it in the perfect positioning to look even better than the real thing. In addition, JConcepts, designing slightly into the future with a nostalgic bumper built to install in a variety of ways. Custom 3D printing or a custom build is required to mount the bumper for a true hobbyist.
