Race Team Update – February 2024 Week #4

An extra day in the month means more winning opportunities for the JConcepts race team! Read about our winning ways in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend they held their Crash In 7 carpet off-road trophy race, so let’s see how the team finished up starting with JC driver Andrew Thomas. He let us know that he raced in the Mod 2wd Buggy class where he finished 4th overall!

Team driver Jacob Sweisberger competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class, and at the end of the event he would finish in 2nd place! Joining him on the podium in 3rd place was fellow JC driver David Peavler!

David also netted another 3rd place finish in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class while his tire teammate Alex Sturgeon took home the W!

Alex’s son Emerson also competed at this event in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class, and he would walk away with the TQ and win!

Team driver Mason Herrick raced in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and he would finished in 2nd place right behind his JC teammate Riley Filbert!

Heading down to Oklahoma we stop in at Oklahoma City where 405 RC Raceway & Hobbies is located. This past weekend they held their 2024 Bigfoot Off-Road Xtravaganza race, and team driver Mike Stoll competed in the Mod and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes. At the end of the race he would finish 6th in Mod 2wd and 4th overall in the 17.5 class!

Also competing for the team at this race was JConcepts driver Rhett McNair. He would finish the race with a 4th place finish in Mod 2wd Buggy, 3rd place in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 2nd place in Mod 4wd Buggy!

Heading over to Georgia we meet up with team driver Shay Brand for our next update. He recently went to the Loganville RC Complex in the city of Loganville to compete in their Ironman trophy race. He would wrap up the race with a win in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy and Buggy classes which included a TQ in truggy as well!

Flying down to Crestview, FL let’s stop in at B&T Raceway for our next report. Team driver Gloop Mahey competed at a recent event held there, and he would finish 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus the TQ and win in the Pro4 SCT and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Pivoting north let’s now visit North Carolina to see how the team faired at a few different events taking place throughout the state. Starting at Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, the team was competing in Round 1 of their Midweek Mayhem Series, and team driver Josh Parrish finished 1st overall in the Mod 2wd Buggy class! He was joined on the podium by fellow JC driver Dave McEwen in 2nd place!

Dave also took the TQ and win in the Mod 4wd Buggy class too!

Our next update comes to us courtesy of team driver Justin Doyle. He recently went to Red Brush RC in Mount Airy to compete in their trophy event, and he came home with the victory in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Cutting the corner we stop in next at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. Team driver Eric Bresnahan visited this track to race in their Mini Nats Warm Up trophy event, and when the race had concluded he would finish 2nd in the Mini Mod Buggy class along with the win in the JRXT truck class!

Working our way west to West Virginia we pull into Ed’s RC in Parkersburg for this quick update from JC pilot Wade Piggott. He signed up to compete in their 10th Annual Winter Chill trophy race and he raced in the Mod 4wd and 1/8 Electric Buggy classes. Unfortunately he suffered a DNF in the main for the wheeler class, but in e buggy he was able to lock up the final podium spot!

Now we bounce over to Indiana to get a few reports from the team competing at different races. Starting in Hudson where Finish Line Raceway is located we check in with team driver Ilan Sanderson who recently traveled there to race in their Turf Wars Series in the Mod and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes. He would end the race with a 3rd place finish in 17.5, plus the TQ and win in the mod class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Kyle Munson. This past weekend he went to Bill’s RC Hobby Shop & Race Track in Marion for their Big One trophy race. He signed up for three classes, and when the event was over he finished 2nd in 17.5 2wd Buggy and Stadium truck, plus the TQ and win in the Short Course Truck class!
