Friday5 With Team Driver Jake Wiggs

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Iowa team driver, Jake Wiggs!

1. How did you first hear about RC car racing? Once you got started what class did you participate in to begin with and why?

I first heard of RC racing from my dad. In 2012 I started racing in Novice because I wasn’t very good and was only six years old.

2. Off-road carpet tracks have been gaining momentum here in the states the last few years. Since you do a lot of racing on this type of surface, do you see that as the future of 1/10 off-road RC, or maybe tracks will go back to dirt or possibly AstroTurf more if they race outside?

I feel like we will keep seeing more and more carpet tracks since they are a lot easier to maintain and cleaner. Dirt will never go away but carpet will definitely make an impact.

3. As a new driver for JConcepts in 2024, what do you feel you bring to the team and what are some of your racing goals?

I feel like I bring a positive attitude to the team and determination to win! My goals are to race at the best of my abilities and really show what I can do. I want to be a good teammate and help everybody out.

4. When it comes to new products released from JConcepts, what are you most excited to see released and why?

I think I get most excited when I see new accessories released. JConcepts always has cool accessories to offer.

5. You are obviously highly skilled when it comes to RC cars, but what is one skill or hidden talent that folks might be surprised to find out about you?

I think something that might surprise people is that I really enjoy graphic designing. I make all the flyers and the majority of the awards for Bad Fast Hobbies races.
