JConcepts 2024 Psycho Nitro Blast Report

This past weekend racers from around the world convened in White Pine, Tennessee for the 2024 Psycho Nitro Blast. The open and fast layout provided some fantastic racing action and when the dust settled JConcepts drivers found their way to the top in a multitude of classes!

The big consistent selling point of the event is the almost 24 hour practice day that allows racers to practice through the night or opt for some extra rest depending on how things go. This year a few rounds of practice by skill level were added to create a bit more organization and less time spent in line with the night left open for whoever dared stick around.

The team ran quite a few tires with success, in practice and qualifying drivers stuck with mostly Green compound but the tread patterns included Reflex, Relapse, Rehab, Falcon, and Dirt Bite depending on car and driver preferences.

After qualifying was complete the following drivers found the most success:

Pro Nitro Buggy: TQ Ryan Maifield, 2nd Brandon Rose, 3rd Dakotah Phend, 4th Spencer Rivkin, 5th Seth VanDalen

Sunday would be a long day of main events ending well into Monday morning. The JConcepts team persevered and had excellent results all day and night!

Pro Nitro Buggy:

Pro Nitro Buggy was a battle for the ages between two heavy weights in the 8th scale off-road world. Dakotah Phend and Ryan Maifield would break away and battle from the start all the way to the last lap with multiple epic passes and crashes for both! Maifield would end up taking the win with Phend in 2nd. Seth VanDalen and Spencer Rivkin finished 3rd and 4th but a bit back from the leaders. Mason Fuller would take the final podium spot for an all JConcepts podium sweep!

1st Ryan Maifield (JC), 2nd Dakotah Phend (JC), 3rd Seth VanDalen (JC), 4th Spencer Rivkin (JC), 5th Mason Fuller (JC)

Pro Truggy:

The top 3 in Pro Truggy would be the same drivers but the battles would vary a bit. Dakotah Phend would jump out to the lead fairly early and battle with Maifield for a while before late race mistakes would move Dakotah backwards. Ryan Maifield would go on to take the truggy win and a late race charge from Seth VanDalen would see him finish up 2nd with Phend in 3rd. 4th would go to Ryan Lutz with Mason Fuller less than a second back in 5th.

1st Ryan Maifield (JC), 2nd Seth VanDalen (JC), 3rd Dakotah Phend (JC), 4th Ryan Lutz, 5th Mason Fuller (JC)

Pro Ebuggy:

Jonah Wilson would take off with the early lead in Pro Ebuggy before a mistake would drop him to 4th. Mason Fuller and Brandon Rose would capitalize on Wilson’s mistake to take 1st and 2nd in the main. Jonah would battle back past Ryan Maifield to finish up 3rd. Dakotah Phend would make a late race pass on Spencer Rivkin for 4th with Rivkin ending up 5th for another all JC podium lockout.
