Race Team Update – May 2024 Week #4

The 4th weekend in May was another winning one for the JConcepts race team as they continue to dominate out on the track! Read all about it in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out in sunny California. There were several events taking place over the holiday weekend so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver James Rodriguez. He reports that he went to Coyote Hobbies Indoor RC Raceway located in Victorville to compete in their World of Dirt Oval Championship race. He would end the event with a 4th place finish in Late Model and Mod Sprint plus won an award for “Best In Show” in concourse!

Moving to El Centro we stop in at Ricochet R/C Raceway. JC driver Adam Peters recently competed there for the final round of their Carpet Off-Road Points Series. He raced in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and took the TQ and tone to tone win!

Team driver Rob Moots went to ARC (Auburn RC) in the city of Auburn to race in Round 2 of their Spring Fever Dirt Oval Points Series. He signed up for the Mod Sprint class and finished in 2nd place!

JConcepts driver Don Vinkemulder attended Round 2 of the JBRL 1/8 Off-Road Series held at Thunder Alley RC Raceway in Beaumont. He competed in two classes and would finish the round with a 5th place finish in the B Main for Intermediate 1/8 Nitro Buggy along with another 5th place finish in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy A Main!

Moving east we now head to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO. This past weekend they held Round 1 of their Summer Outdoor Off-Road Series so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Shane Alberico. He reports that he finished 4th overall in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

His tire teammate Jake Stoeltzing was also at this race and he finished 4th overall in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Team driver Ashton Abdul competed in these same two classes and would finish 2nd in the expert nitro class, plus grabbed the TQ and W in expert e buggy!

Leaping over the stateline into the “Land of Lincoln” we get our next report from team driver Kevin Mcnatt. He recently traveled to Jacksonville where Jacksonville RC Speedway is located at to compete in their Elite Dirt Oval Series, and he would leave the state with an A Main win in the SC Mod class!

Next, we cross the Mississippi river and head to Island Speedway in Muscatine, IA. This past weekend they held a warm-up race for the upcoming INS14 Summer Indoor Carpet Nationals. Team driver Jake Wiggs competed in three classes and finished 5th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy along with the TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes! Joining him on the 13.5 podium in 3rd place was fellow JC driver Jacob Sweisberger!

Jacob also finished 2nd in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and his tire teammate Talon Henley took 3rd place!

Heading up north we now catch up with team driver Ryan Derenne. Over the Memorial Day weekend he went to Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI to compete in their trophy event which also celebrated 35 years at the same location!

He raced in two classes and would finish 12th overall in 1/8 Electric Truggy and 4th place in Mod Stadium Truck!

Flying out east we now make our way to Barnstormers RC Raceway in Chester, NY. There we find team driver Aydan Manchanda who was in town to compete in their Mr. B Day Trophy Race. He competed in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes and would double up with two TQs and wins! He then grabbed another TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Team driver Matt Adams reported that he recently went to Riverview RC Raceway in Jersey Shore, PA to compete in their season opener. He signed up for the Midget and 17.5 Sprint Car classes, and he would set the TQ in Round 1 of qualifying for Midget and finished 3rd in the opening round of Sprint car too! Unfortunately, the event would then be rained out, but he still had a good time kicking off the outdoor race season!

Working our way to West Virginia we now head to Tri-Cities RC Racing in Lavalette. This past weekend they held their Brawl For It All trophy race and team driver Wade Piggott reported that he would set the TQ in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class, and then race on to take the win, plus picked up another win in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

His tire teammate Bella Rogers was also at this event, and she set the TQ in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, plus locked up 2nd place in both buggy classes!

Moving to the coastline we now catch up with JConcepts driver Marlowe Bright. This past weekend he went to Turn and Burn Hobby & Raceway in Winston-Salem, NC to compete in a money race. He would finish 5th overall in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class, and he also made the main for the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, but the A Main got canceled 5 minutes into it due to weather. His son Carter was also at this event and he locked up 2nd place in the Sportsman 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver David Olsen. This past weekend he went to compete at Phil Hurd Raceway in Savannah, GA, and he would end the weekend with a TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class along with another W in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!
