In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Nebraska team driver, Dalton Conradt!
1. When and how did you get started in RC? And what class do you compete in or did you primarily bash your vehicles?
I started racing at the beginning of 2021 after I got Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL for Christmas. I ran it in the PlexSpec beginner class at the Hobbyplex in Omaha for about a year.
2. What classes do you enjoy to compete in today? Is there another class you would like to see comeback or increase in popularity so you could compete in it as well?
My favorite class to compete in right now is 4wd buggy with 2wd buggy being a close second. I enjoy the stock classes and the small nit-bit things you have to do to compete at the top. I would like to see the short course truck class make a comeback as it just adds another type of discipline for a driver. It’s one class I run at bigger races during the year, and I find it to be a lot of fun. One note I will add is that the short course truck crowd is always supportive of everyone in the class and it’s good to see the positivity.
3. When life interferes and you can’t get out to the track, what other activities do you dabble with to meet your RC fix?
When I’m not able to get to the track and race I mostly enjoy to hit up some laps on VRC or watch races. I also like to get some wrench time in on my cars in my free time.
4. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?
My favorite JConcepts item of all time would have to be the P2 body for the 4wd buggies. It has always been my body of choice since its release and makes me feel confident and comfortable with my vehicle on the track.
5. Besides RC racing, what other activities do you enjoy?
I like to go for drives in my car when I’m not racing or just hanging out with my friends or catching up on some games.
