In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to California team driver, Jermaine Robinson!
1. Let’s start the interview with some RC background. When did you get your start in RC racing? Did you bash cars at first or jumped right into the racing scene?
I started RC when I was around 5. My dad got me a Traxxas Slash and while he would race I would be on a side track bashing my Slash around.
2. From your experience what is the easiest AND hardest maintenance task on your RC cars?
One of the easiest task would probably be cleaning the car after a run, and one of the hardest task for me would have to be building and maintaining diffs and shocks if the racing conditions change.
3. As a new driver for JConcepts in 2024, what do you feel you bring to the team and what are some of your racing goals?
Some of my racing goals are to learn the JConcepts products more and use it to enhance my racing. I bring a solid background in the 1/8 program to help drivers pick out the right tread patterns and compounds.
4. Name one JConcepts product that you feel is overlooked by many but you find it very useful.
The RM2 Red O-Ring Grease is always essential when building shocks or diffs to make them last longer and get a better feel.
5. Obviously you are into RC racing but what other activities do you find enjoyment with?
Going outside and doing school activities and playing video games with my RC buddies.
