Race Team Update – June 2024 Week #1

As we enter a new month it is the same old story for the JConcepts race team as they continue to collect wins around the globe! Read all about it in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out in the Pacific Northwest. Round 2 of the Northwest Championship Tour took place in Yakima, WA and team driver Shane Preugschat finished 3rd in Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy, TQ and 2nd in 1/8 Nitro Truggy, plus he picked up the TQ and win in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Heading down to Arizona we stop in at Hobby Action RC Raceway in the city of Chandler. This past weekend they were host to Round 2 of the AZRC Dirt Oval series, and team driver James Rodriguez reported that he finished 3rd overall in the Outlaw Sprint and Super Late Model classes!

Shooting over to Fort Worth, TX let’s now stop in at RCCA (RC Car Club of America) for our next update. This past weekend they held their 1st annual Texas State Carpet championships, and team driver Rhett McNair reported that he finished 4th in Mod 4wd Buggy, plus the TQ and a DNF in Mod 2wd Buggy! Joining him on the 2wd podium were fellow JC pilots Mike Stoll (2nd) and Tyler Hooks (1st)! Mike also let us know that he finished 10th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 3rd place in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Heading north we now stop in at Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon, OK for our next update. Team driver David Alford recently competed at their Dirt Oval Classic event where he finished in 6th place in Late Model!

Moving over to Missouri we make our way to St. Louis Dirt Burners in the city of Kirkwood. This past weekend was their Gateway Classic and team driver Ilan Sanderson was in attendance. He raced in three classes, and when the dust had settled he would finish 6th in Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 5th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and took the W in the Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Leaping the state line we land in Illinois for this quick update from team driver Josh Rhodes. Eli Field in Monticello was the site of the 2024 Horizon Hobby RC Fest which included monster truck events. When the event had wrapped up he would finish 3rd in Pro Modified and 2nd overall in the Open LMT class!

Crossing back over the Mississippi we now stop in at Leighton Speedway in Leighton, IA. This past weekend they held their 1st Annual Wild Bill’s Classic that brought out 211 entries!

Team driver David Fast competed in the 360 and 410 Sprint Car classes, and he would finish the night with 6th place finish in the lower mains for the 410 class, and 9th overall in 360!

Working our way up to Wisconsin we now visit New Franken where Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway is located. This past weekend Ryan Derenne visited this track to compete in a round of their Summer Series.

When the round has concluded he would finish 4th in Stadium Truck and 3rd place in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Making our way to Ohio we get caught up with team driver Chuck Berg next. This past weekend he went to TARCAR in Toledo to compete in their Nitro vs. Electric trophy event, and he would finish 2nd overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Also racing at this track was team driver Aaron Buran, and he let us know that he took the TQ and W in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Joining him on the podium was his teammate Steve Culbert in 2nd place!

Team driver Joey Bourdon also signed up for this race, and after the mains were ran he would take home the double win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Nitro Truggy shootout classes! Joining him on the e buggy podium was his tire teammate Brandon Marsh in 4th place!

Heading east we stop in at Riverview RC Raceway in Jersey Shore, PA for this quick update. Team driver Matt Adams competed there over the weekend in a dirt oval event, and he would finish 2nd in Midget and 1st place in 17.5 Sprint!

Heading further east we catch up team driver Matthew Sousa. He recently went to RC Madness in Enfield, CT for the 3rd Round of their Race Turf Series, and he would leave with the double win in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Heading down the coastline we make our way to Thunder RC Raceway in Lumberton, NC. They recently held their Bounty trophy race which paid out $500 for the winner of Pro buggy!

Team driver Marlowe Bright was at this race and he finished 3rd in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 2nd in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy! Taking the TQ and win in pro e buggy was his tire teammate Maddy Long!

She would also finish 5th in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy, and her father and team driver Rusty Mihelich would also pick up the W in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Marlowe’s son Carter also made the podium at this event as he finished 3rd in Sportsman 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Moving down to South Carolina we meet up with team driver Ennis Graves. He recently competed at S&B R/C Speedway in Piedmont for their Bounty trophy race too. He competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and left with the TQ and win!

Heading down to Savannah, GA let’s stop in at Phil Hurd Raceway to get this quick update from team driver Gene Shrout Jr. This track hosted Round 3 of the SCORE points series, and Gene finished 3rd overall in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Ray Munday. He and his son Lachlan traveled to Mildura in regional Australia for Mallee Madness 16, which was also the 2nd round of the Victorian Drivers series. After the race was over Lachlan would finish 2nd in Mod 4wd Buggy, and he also picked up the TQ and win in Mod 2wd Buggy and Stadium Truck! Ray would finish 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and also 2nd overall in Mod Stadium Truck!
