Race Team Update – July 2024 Week #3

Things are heating up outside this Summer as July rolls along in 2024. The JConcepts race team also continues to heat things up on the track as well which you can read about more in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in the Pacific Northwest region. This past weekend was Round 2 of the WERC (Wilde Events RC) Series that took place RC in Snohomish, WA. Team driver Austin Cracknell competed in two classes and would finish 2nd overall in both the Open 1/8 Electric Buggy and Nitro Truggy classes!

Also competing for the team was JC driver Shane Preugschat. He competed in three classes and would finish 8th in Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 6th in Open 1/8 Nitro Truggy, and 1st place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy! Joining him on the 40+ buggy podium was fellow JConcepts driver Tony Corless (2nd)!

JConcepts driver Evan Roeth also raced in this recent round. When the event was over he would finish 6th in both the Open and Spec Tire 1/8 Electric Buggy classes, plus a TQ and W in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Next, we head south to sunny California to get this quick update from team driver Jeremy Bunting. This past weekend he traveled to AMain Hobbies Outback Speedway in Chico for Round 4 of the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks Series.

He was the top qualifier and won the racing bracket for the Challenger Spec class with his “Titan” truck! In the 2.6 Monster Truck class he would make it finals in racing, but came up just short of the win with his “Carnage” truck! In the Retro class he would also make it to the semi finals with his “Shotgun” truck too!

Shooting over to Texas let’s get this quick update from team driver Todd Geary. He recently competed at Indy RC World in the city of Garland as they hosted Round 4 of the RC Pro series. When the racing was done for the day he would finish 10th in Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 6th in Open 1/8 Electric Buggy, and 3rd place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Heading north we make our way to Iowa for a few updates from the team. Starting with team driver David Fast he let us know that last weekend he went to Leighton Speedway located in the town of Leighton. He was there to compete in their King of the Corn trophy event, and he would leave with a 6th place finish in 410 Sprint and 2nd place finish in 360 Sprint!

Next, we head over to Webster City where Traction City RC is located. This past weekend they held Round 3 of their Summer points series, and team driver David Peavler signed up for three classes. When the round was in the books he would leave with a TQ and 2nd place in Mod 2wd Buggy along with two more TQs and wins in the 13.5 Stadium Truck and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy classes!

Heading over to Wisconsin we make our way to New Franken where Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway is located.

Last weekend was the 5th round of their Summer point series, and team driver Ryan Derenne let us know that he finished 9th overall in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class, plus a 6th place finish in Mod Stadium Truck!

Heading south we catch up with team driver Lukas Klein. He recently went to Crawler Canyon RC Park in Rockdale, IL to compete in four different events that they held in a single day. After all the events were done he would take home 1st place overall!

Heading east we now stop in at TARCAR in Toledo, OH for this next update from team driver Mike Legue. This track held The Drake Clinic race event over the weekend, and Mike would finish 3rd overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes, plus 1/8 Electric Buggy! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium in 2nd place was his tire teammate Adam Drake!

Continuing east our next stop is at LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, PA. This past weekend they held their Super Cup trophy event, and team driver Tom Petrella competed in the 40+ 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes. He would finish 11th in the nitro class and 2nd overall in e buggy!

Also competing for the team at this race was his tire teammate Rob Allen as he took 1st place the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

JC driver Gloop Mahey reported that he just missed the transfer spot in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class, while in the Intermediate 1/8 Electric class he made the A main and finished 10th overall!

Our final stop this week is at Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC.

Last week they held their final round of their MidWeek Mayhem Series, and team driver Josh Parrish reported that after the points were tallied up he would finish 2nd overall in Mod 4wd Buggy and 1st place in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Taking the overall title in the Mod 4wd Buggy class was his JC teammate Dave McEwen, and he also finished 2nd behind Josh in Mod 2wd Buggy too!
