Race Team Update – August 2024 Week #4

The JConcepts race team continues to bring the heat to RC tracks around the globe! Read about our continued success in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out east at S&B Raceway in Piedmont, SC. This past weekend they hosted the latest round of the TSOC (Two States One Championship) Series, so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Shay Brand. He competed in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and would the set the TQ and take the wins in both classes!

Also competing at this race was his tire teammate Mark Moon in the same two classes and he would finish in both right behind Shay!

Team driver Brian Burnette also competed at this race in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class where he finished 3rd overall!

JC driver Ennis Graves signed up for the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Truggy classes for this event. He would make both A Mains and finished 3rd overall in the nitro truggy class!

Veering our way over to Virginia we stop in at PLRC (Power Line R/C) in the city of Fredericksburg. This past weekend they held their 2024 HobbyTown Backyard Nationals and team driver Brian Miskolczi and his son Layton both competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class. When the race was over Layton would finish 6th while Brian would take the win!

Heading north we now make our way to LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, PA. This past weekend they held their 2024 Mugen Challenge which brought out 477 entries! Let’s see how the JConcepts team performed starting with team driver Gloop Mahey. He competed in two classes at this race and would finish in the lower mains for 1/8 Electric Truggy and 10th place in Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy!

JC pilot Chuck Berg raced in three classes and when the dust had settled he would finish 12th in Expert 1/8 Nitro Truggy, 2nd place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy, plus the TQ and win in Intermediate 1/8 Nitro Buggy! Taking the win in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class was his tire teammate Steve Culbert!

Team driver Daniel Sedler reported that he finished 9th in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy B Main along with a 4th place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy! Joining him on the e truggy podium were fellow JC drivers Aydan Manchanda (2nd) and Bryan Kata (3rd)!

Next, we make our way west and stop in at Medina RC Raceway in Medina, OH. This track recently hosted a round of the OEOSS (Ohio Extreme Off-Road Summer Series) and team driver Aaron Buran let us know that he set the TQ and then grabbed the win in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes! Finishing right behind him on the podium for both classes was his tire teammate Brandon Marsh!

Moving up to Michigan we catch up with team driver Mike Legue. This past weekend he went to Swartz Creek where Beyond The Creek RC Raceway is located to compete in their 2nd Annual “Send It” trophy race. He would set the TQ in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, suffer a DNF in the e buggy main, but then bounced back to take the W in the nitro class!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI. This past weekend they held their 23rd Annual Corn Roast trophy race, and team driver Ryan Derenne competed in two classes.

He would just miss the transfer spot to the A Main in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class, while in the Mod Stadium Truck class he would finish 7th overall in the A Main!

Now we cross over into Iowa and stop in at Muscatine where Island Speedway is located. This past weekend was their Summer Sizzler event which brought out over 100 entries, so let’s see how the JC team finished starting with team driver Jake Wiggs.

He let us know that he competed in three classes and would finish 2nd in 13.5 Stadium Truck along with two 1st place finishes in Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy!

JConcepts driver Jacob Sweisberger also competed in the same three classes and he would grab a 4th place finish in 13.5 Stadium truck along with a pair of 2nd place finishes in Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Team driver David Peavler would finish 7th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy, 5th place in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy and 3rd overall in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class!

Heading down I-35 we now stop in at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO for our next report. This past weekend they held the 6th Round of the Summer Series, and team driver Orlando Martinez finished 2nd in 17.5 2wd Buggy along with a TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

JC driver Nick Gibson raced in the Mod 2wd Buggy class where he set the TQ and then took the win!

Kicking it over to Kansas we make our way to Bonner Springs where Checkered Flag R/C Raceway is located. Team driver Shane Alberico recently competed there for another round of their points series, and he would take home 1st place in the 13.5 Sprint class!

Next, let’s shoot down to Texas to the city of Hutto where Thornhill Racing Circuit is located at.

This past weekend they held Round 1 of their Fall Series, and team driver Brian Henn would finish 4th for the day after the AA Mains were ran for the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Also competing at this race was JC driver Billy DiCorte Jr. in the Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy class where he finished 2nd overall!

Our next stop is at The Boneyard track in Menifee, CA to get this quick update from team driver Michael Letcher.

This past Saturday he competed in Round 5 of the So Cal Monster Truck Racing Series, and he would come home with a win in the Retro class with his Thunder Chicken ride while also picking up another W in the Freestyle competition with his “Wizard” pro mod monster truck!

Now let’s get some updates from out international team. This past weekend the team was hard at work competing at the Quebec Classic in Canada.

Team driver Damian Lamy would double up at this race with two TQs and wins in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium were his tire teammates Loic Deschesnes (2nd) and Olivier Raposo (4th)!

In the 35+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class it was team driver Daniel Salvas taking the victory! He was joined on the podium by fellow JC driver Dominic Seguin in 4th place!

Next, we fly across the pond to see how the team faired at the recent Herts GP held in the U.K. Team driver Cayden Stenhouse competed in two classes, and he would finish 9th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy while also grabbing a 3rd place finish in 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Jake Dell who competed in the same two classes. When the event had wrapped up he would finish 11th after a 45 minute A Main in the nitro class while in e buggy he secured a 7th place finish!
