Race Team Update – July 2024 Week #4

The JConcepts race team stays red hot as they continue to put in work over the final weekend of July. Read about our continued success in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out east at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. This past weekend they held their BBQ Blast 2024 Turf trophy race so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Eric Bresnahan.

He reports that he raced in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes and would end up 4th in buggy and took the TQ and win in the truck class! Joining him on the truck podium in 2nd place was fellow JC driver Tom Bishop!

Team driver Matthew Sousa raced in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and he would complete the event with the double TQ and win! His tire teammate John Cravotta also competed in both classes and finished right behind Matthew on the podium in both classes!

Next, we veer down to Virginia to get this quick update from team driver Brian Miskolczi. He went to PLRC (Power Line R/C) in Fredericksburg to compete in their Nitro Showdown trophy race. They offered 1/8 electric classes too, so he signed up in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and would take the TQ and W! His son Layton just missed the podium in this class too with a 4th place finish!

Moving over to Missouri let’s stop in at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs for this quick team update. This past weekend they held Round 3 of their outdoor points series, and team driver Andrew Thomas raced in the 1/8 Expert Nitro Buggy class and finished 3rd overall! Taking the W in this class was fellow JC driver Nick Gibson!

Kicking it over to Kansas we visit the city of Newton where RC Pitstop & Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their Summer Carpet Smackdown trophy event, and team driver Mason Herrick would set the TQ and take the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class! Joining him on the podium in 5th place was fellow JC driver Tyler Hooks!

Tyler also competed in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class where he would take the TQ and win! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was JConcepts pilot Zeke Ballinger!

Staying in the state we get another racing update from team driver David Alberico. On Sunday he went to Checkered Flag R/C Raceway in Bonner Springs, KS for their dirt oval trophy event, and he would take 2nd place in the Late Model class!

Sending it south we stop in at Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon, OK for this update from JConcepts driver Tyler Keel. This track recently hosted a round of the RC Pro Series, and Tyler would set the TQ and finish 2nd overall in the Outlaw Sprint class! Joining him on the podium in 4th place was fellow JConcepts driver Randy Lathrop!

Now let’s fly out to sunny California to get a few updates from the team competing at different events. Starting with JC driver Jeff Guest he let us know that he competed in the 40+ 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes at Round 4 of the JBRL 1/10 Scale Series that took place at Freedom Park in Camarillo. When the dust had settled he would finish 6th in 4wd, plus he also picked up the W in the 2wd class!

Next, we head north to the city of Chico where Outback Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their Kevin Jelich Memorial Off-Road Race. Team driver Chase Raymond competed in the 13.5 4wd and Pro 17.5 2wd Buggy classes, and he would finish the event with a 5th place finish in wheeler along with a victory in the 2wd class! Joining him on the 2wd podium were fellow JC drivers Jovy Levin (2nd) and Kyle Layton (3rd) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Evan Roeth. This past weekend he raced at Round 3 of the 1/8 and 1/10 series at Skagit River Raceway in Burlington, WA in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class. He would set the TQ and finish 2nd for the day, and picking up the win was his tire teammate Tony Corless!
