Race Team Update – August 2024 Week #5

As the Summer races to the finish line the JConcepts race team stays on point as they continue to dominate on tracks around the globe! Read about our continued winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down at Capital City RC in Tallahassee, FL. This track was host to Round 5 of the Florida RC Championships so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Gene Shrout Jr. He let us know that he finished 3rd overall in the Pro4 Short Course Truck class, and he also grabbed 2nd place in the Open 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

JConcepts driver Trent Walker competed in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and he would leave the event with the win! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was fellow JConcepts driver Kenny Setser!

Team driver Hunter King signed up in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class and would grab the 2nd podium spot when the racing was over!

JC driver Carlos Gonzalez would set the TQ and take the W in the Open 1/8 Electric Truggy class, and joining him on the podium in 3rd place was fellow team driver Nelson Garcia!

JConcepts pilot Patrick Rossiter Jr. reported that he finished 3rd overall in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class, and he also set the TQ then raced on to take the win in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Truggy class! Joining him on the podium in 3rd place was fellow JC driver Joshua Vicidomini!

Next, we head up the coastline and stop in at Pete’s Pro RC Raceway and Training Facility in Danville, VA. This past weekend they held the 4th round of the Virginia Off-Road Championship Series, and team driver Brian Miskolczi reports that he would set the TQ and then finished in 2nd place in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

His son Layton would finish 2nd overall in the Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy class too!

Cutting the corner we stop in at RC Madness in Enfield, CT for our next report. This past weekend they held their Turf Nats trophy race, and team driver Eric Bresnahan competed in two classes. In the 17.5 2wd Buggy class he would finish 7th overall after some bad luck in the A Main, but in the Mod Stadium Truck class lady luck was on his side and he set the TQ and then took the win!

Now we make our way to “buckeye” state to get a few updates from the team competing at different events. Starting first with team driver Wade Piggott he checks in to let us know he recently went to Dillon’s RC Raceway in Corning to compete in the Ohio State Championship. He would enter two classes and when the racing was done he would leave with the double TQ and win in the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes!

Now we turn our attention to Toledo where TARCAR is located. This past weekend they hosted Round 4 of the Glass City Series, and team driver Chuck Berg signed up for two classes. He would set the TQ in both the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes, and after the mains were ran he would finish 5th in buggy, plus lock up the win in truggy!

Bouncing over to the “Hoosier” state we catch up with team driver Kevin Mcnatt. This past weekend he went to Backyard Raceway in the town of Argos to compete in their Crown Jewell event.

He competed in the SC Mod class and after bumping his way into the A Main he was able to take home the win on the final lap!

Making our way up to Minnesota we catch up with JConcepts driver Joe Zaier Jr. He recently went to the city of Kellogg where Hoosier Speedway is located to compete in their dirt oval trophy event. When the racing was over he would finish in 4th place in the 13.5 Sprint class!

Heading down I-35 we make our way to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO. This past weekend they hosted the 2024 ROAR Region 8 1:8 Off-Road Championship, and we had many drivers in attendance so let’s how they finished up. Starting with team driver Sam Ford he let us know that he took the win in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class!

JC driver David Alberico took home 1st place in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! He was joined on the podium by fellow JC driver Mack Vanderbeek in 2nd!

Team driver Shane Alberico competed in the both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, and when the racing was done he would finish 4th in nitro and 3rd place in e buggy! Taking the TQ and win in e buggy was fellow team driver Owen Vanderbeek!

Our next stop on the tour is at Shifty’s RC Raceway in Tulsa, OK. Recently team driver Brian Stanton competed in a special dirt oval event held there that paid out a $100 bounty in the Midget Sprint class. He signed up for that class along with Open Sprint and Late Model, and when the dust had settled he set the TQ and then took the win in all three classes along with the $100!

Shooting down to Texas we stop in at Garland where Indy RC World is located at. Last weekend they hosted the WFO Dirt Oval Series, and team driver Jordan Hefler competed in four classes with great results:

  • SC Mod = TQ and 1st place
  • Late Model = TQ and 1st place
  • Midwest Mod = TQ and 1st place
  • Outlaw Sprint = 3rd place

He also earns our coveted “ironman” award this week too for competing in the most classes at one event!

Working our way over to Washington let’s get a few updates from the team competing at different events throughout the state. We start with Andrew Beauchamp who raced at Round 6 of the DieHard RC Dirt Series that was held in the city of Snohomish. He registered for the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and would finish a solid 3rd place in both! Taking the win in the nitro class was fellow JC driver Tyler Wilbur!

Next, we travel to Spokane to see how the team finished up at Round 3 of the Northwest Championship Tour held at Hank Perry RC Raceway. Starting with team driver Shane Preugschat he competed in three classes, and he would finish the round with a 4th place finish in Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 2nd place in Open 1/8 Nitro Truggy, plus the TQ and W in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Also racing in this event was his tire teammate Robert Sorjonen. He also competed in three classes and when the event wrapped up he would finish 2nd in both the Mod 4wd and Open 1/8 Electric Buggy classes, along with the TQ and win in the Gas Stadium Truck class!

Now let’s check in with our Australian race team to see how they finished up at the recent 2024 Ryde Chilly Bowl held at Hills Off-Road RC at Castle Hill in New South Wales, Australia.

Starting with team driver Jarod Ment he would finish the event with two 2nd place finishes in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy! Fellow team driver Lachlan Munday would finish 4th in Mod 2wd Buggy and 3rd place in Mod 4wd Buggy! Taking the win in the Mod 4wd Buggy class was their tire teammate Lachlan Donnelly!


Lachlan Donnelly would also finish 3rd place in Mod 2wd Buggy, and after adding up the points from both classes he would take home the overall Ryde cup for the 4th year in a row!

Team driver Ray Munday also competed in Mod 2wd Buggy where finished in 5th place!
