Race Team Update – September 2024 Week #4

The month of September is in the books and it looks like there is no stopping the JConcepts race team! Read about our continued winning ways on the track in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down in Tiger, GA where the Georgia Peach State Classic was held over the weekend. This event saw 380 entries so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Shay Brand. He reported that he ran in three classes, and when the racing was over he would finish 8th in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 6th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and a 3rd place finish in Pro 1/8 Nitro Truggy! Joining him on the nitro truggy podium were JConcepts team drivers Cole Kasten (TQ & 1st), Jonah Wilson (4th) and Lee Setser (5th)!

Team driver Mike Legue was also at this race, and he competed in the Intermediate 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes along with Pro 1/8 Nitro Truggy. In truggy he would race on to finish 7th overall, 2nd place in nitro buggy and in e buggy he finished 1st overall after the AA Mains! Joining him on the e buggy podium were fellow JC pilots Braden Bruce (4th) and Ilan Sanderson (5th)!

JConcepts driver Chuck Berg signed up for two classes at this race, and he would set the TQ in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, then race on to finish 7th, plus a 6th place finish in Intermediate 1/8 Nitro Buggy too! Joining him on the 40+ podium were his tire teammates Chris VanRaemdonck (1st) and Jader Lopez (2nd)!

JC driver Cade Burnette competed in all three Pro classes, and when the dust had settled he would finish 11th in nitro buggy, 8th in nitro truggy and 3rd place in e buggy! Joining him on the e buggy podium were fellow team drivers Jonah Wilson (TQ & 1st), Lee Setser (2nd), Cole Kasten (4th) and Patrick Rossiter Jr. (5th) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Crossing the stateline we now head to the coastline in Myrtle Beach, SC where Beach RC & Hobbies is located at. This past weekend they held their Beach Buggy Blast trophy race and team driver Justin Doyle would take the TQ and W in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Also competing there for the team was JConcepts pilot Ryan Caudle. He would sign up for two classes and finish 2nd overall in the Mod 4wd Buggy class, plus the TQ and win in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Heading further up the coast we now make our way to PLRC (Power Line R/C) located in Fredericksburg, VA. This past weekend they held their Fall Haul trophy event and team driver Brian Miskolczi and his son Layton were throwing down laps. They both competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, and when the racing was over Layton would finish 5th with dad just getting the better of him with a 4th place finish!

Continuing to the northeast we now stop in at The Track in Gaithersburg, MD. This past weekend they held their 2024 Ace of Dirt trophy race, so let’s see how the team performed starting with team driver Jose Zayas. He let us know that he finished 2nd in both 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus the TQ and win in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

JC driver Enzo Albertoni doubled down at this race with two TQs and wins in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Moving over to Minnesota we next get an update from team driver Joe Scaramell. This past weekend he went to FTR Raceway in Foley, MN to compete in their State Championship event. After the racing was over and season points were added up he would finish 7th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy plus a 2nd place finish in the 35+ 1/8 Nitro Truggy class!

Shooting down to Texas we get our next update from JConcepts driver Jordan Hefler. This past weekend he went to Money Pit Dirt Oval RC Track in the city of Merkel to compete in the WFO Dirt Oval Series that was held there. He competed in four classes and out in some great results!

  • Midwest Mod = TQ and 1st
  • Late Model = 1st
  • Outlaw Sprint 4th
  • SC Mod = TQ and 3rd

Joining him on the Late Model podium was JC power couple Randy and Jen Lathrop to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Angling our way to Arizona we stop in at the city of Chandler where Hobby Action RC Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their Wild West Oval Shootout, and team driver James Rodriguez was making left hand turns all weekend long. He competed in three classes and he would finish in the lower mains for 410 Sprint and Late Model classes, plus a 5th place finish in Outlaw Street Stock!

Next, we head up to Tacoma, WA where Tacoma R/C Raceway is located. Last weekend they held their 2024 Northwest Gold Cup event, and team driver Andrew Beauchamp reported that he finished 2nd overall in both Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy! Taking the win in the 2wd class was his tire teammate Austin Cracknell!

Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with team driver Alberto Garcia. This past weekend the 4th and final round of the 2024 1/8 Off-Road Madrid Championship was held, and after the points were tallied up he would take home the series title!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Ben Panic. He recently attended the final round of the Asian Buggy Championships that was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, and after the points were calculated he would take the overall title in the 45+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!
