Race Team Update – November 2024 Week #1

The votes are in and it was another great weekend of racing for the JConcepts race team! Read about our winning ways in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out at TNR Raceway in Colorado Springs, CO. They just held their 2024 Gobbler Shootout trophy race that saw 142 entries! It was a family affair for team driver Sam Ford as he and his sons Casey and Cam competed in this event. When the race was over Sam would finish 14th in Expert 1/8 Nitro Truggy, Cam would take the win in Novice and Casey would grab the TQ and win in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Our next stop is at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE to see how the team finished up at the opening round of their Winter points series that saw 161 entries! Starting with team driver Brandon Kearney he let us know that he would double up at this opening round with two TQs and Ws in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Truck classes!

Also competing for the team was JConcepts pilot Mason Herrick. He would end the round with a 6th place finish in 1/8 Electric Buggy as well as a 4th place finish in 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

JC driver Andrew Thomas competed in these same two classes and he made the finals for both! In the nitro main he had some back luck about halfway through the race would finish with a DNF, but he bounced back in the e buggy A Main by capturing 4th place!

Working our way up to Wisconsin we stop in at Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in the city of New Franken.

This past weekend they held their Best of the Rest trophy race, and team driver Ryan Derenne would finish 5th in both the 40+ 2wd Buggy and Mod Stadium Truck classes!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Sandpit RC in Jonesville, MI to get this quick update from team driver Mike Legue. Over the weekend he competed there for a trophy event, and he would finish 2nd in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, plus he grabbed the TQ and win in 1/8 Electric Buggy! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium to complete the JConcepts sweep were teammates Dalton Balboa (3rd) and Jared Wiggins (1st)!

Now we fly out east and touch down at Maximus RC Raceway in York, ME to see how the team finished up at their recent NEIC trophy race. Team driver John Cravotta reported that he signed up for the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes and he would finish 4th in Mod 2wd and 3rd place in the 17.5 class! Also competing at this event in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes was his tire teammate Matthew Sousa, and he would double dip with the TQ and win in both classes!

Working our way down the coastline we now stop in at PLRC (Power Line R/C) in Fredericksburg, VA. This past weekend they held their 2024 The Wild TurkE trophy event, and team driver Brian Miskolczi would take the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric and Mod 4wd Buggy classes! His son Layton would finish 5th in Mod 4wd Buggy and 2nd place in 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Crossing the stateline we stop in at Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC to see how the team finished up at their recent 2024 Great Pumpkin Race. Team driver Josh Parrish took the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! JC driver Ryan Caudle finished 3rd in Mod 4wd Buggy, 2nd place in Mod 2wd Buggy and 2wd Short Course Truck, plus the TQ and win in the Mini Truggy class! JConcepts pilot Dave McEwen competed in four classes as well and he would take the TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, along with 2wd and 4wd Short Course Truck! Great job team!

Staying in the state we now visit Overcash RC Raceway in the town of Salisbury. There we find team driver Derrick Harris who recently visited this track to compete in their 2nd annual Pumpkin Bash. He raced in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes, and he would finish 9th in the e buggy class, plus took the TQ and win in e truggy!

Heading further south we now visit Easley R/C Complex in Easley, SC for our next update. Team driver Cade Burnette signed up to compete in their Halloween Race in the Pro 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, and he would set the TQ in e buggy then race on the take the victory in both classes!

Next, we head down to sunny Florida to see how the team finished up at different events taking place throughout the state. Our first stop is at Newberry RC Park in Lake City where the finals for the Florida RC Championships took place. Team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. competed in two classes and he grabbed the TQ and win in both 13.5 4wd Buggy and Short Course Truck!

Also competing at the finals for the team was JC driver Gene Shrout Jr. He raced in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would finish in 3rd place after the AA mains! Joining him on the podium in 4th place was fellow JC driver Zach Griggs!

Our next stop in the state is at Sundancers RC in Port Saint Lucie.

This track hosted Round 1 of the Southern Showdown, and team driver Brett Kingsbury got off to a great start as he took the win in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Our final report this week comes to use courtesy of Australian team driver Darren Johnston. This past weekend he competed at the 1/8 Off-Road West Australian State Championships on the Radio Rally temporary grass track in city of Perth.

He competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and after the 45 minute final was ran he would finish in 5th place!
