Race Team Update – October 2024 Week #4

The weekend before Halloween the JConcepts race team was busy scaring away the competition on many tracks around the globe. Read about our continued success in this spooky edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report at Beach RC & Hobbies in Myrtle Beach, SC. This track hosted the 10th annual Masters of Dirt event that brought out 330 entries! We had many drivers in attendance so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Josh Parrish.

He competed in two classes and finished 8th overall in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 7th place in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Team driver Justin Doyle competed in four classes at this race and he put in some solid results!

  • 17.5 2wd Buggy – 18th place
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy – 16th place
  • 40+ 2wd Buggy – 13th place
  • 40+ 4wd Buggy – 4th place

JC driver Hunter King also threw down laps at this event in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes. He would finish the weekend with a 4th place finish in 17.5 2wd, plus the TQ and win in 13.5 4wd! Joining him on the 13.5 4wd podium were fellow JC drivers Doug Lariviere (2nd), Jeff Statkiewicz (3rd), Talon Henley (4th) and Patrick Rossiter Jr. (5th) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep! Speaking of Patrick he also took the TQ and W in the 2wd Short Course Truck class too!

Team driver Ryan Caudle signed up for three classes at this event. He would then race on to finish 4th in Mod 2wd Buggy, 2nd place in 2wd Short Course Truck and he also took home the win in the Mini Truggy class!

JConcepts pilot Ennis Graves let us know that he finished in the lower mains for Mod 4wd Buggy, but he made the big show for Mini Truggy as he crossed the finish line in 7th place!

Team driver Dave McEwen kept himself busy at this event as he raced in five separate classes!

  • 40+ 4wd Buggy – 2nd place
  • 40+ 2wd Buggy – 3rd place
  • Open Mod 2wd Buggy – 3rd place
  • 2wd Short Course Truck – 3rd place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy – 12th place

Those are some great results and he also earns our coveted “ironman” award this week for competing in the most classes at one event!

We head up the coastline to Adrenaline RC Raceway in Winchester, VA for our next report. Team driver Javon Mallory recently visited this track to compete in their Fall Points Series, and when the racing was over he would finish 8th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus the TQ and 2nd place in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Our next stop is in Boonton Town, NJ where Insanity RC is located. This past weekend they held their Vintage Fall Brawl, and team driver Jose Zayas was able to capture the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd (buggies from 1997 and older) and Open 4wd Buggy classes along with the 17.5 Stadium Truck class!

Also competing at this race was is JConcepts teammate Jason Csontos. He registered in three classes as well and would finish 4th in 17.5 2wd Buggy, 3rd place in 17.5 Y2K 2wd Buggy (rear motor buggies from 2000 and newer) and a 2nd place finish in 17.5 Stadium Truck!

Cutting the corner we land in Enfield, CT to get this quick update from team driver Matthew Sousa. Over the weekend he traveled to RC Madness to compete in their Halloween Havoc trophy race. He competed in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and he would race on to take both wins in the mains!

Over in Ohio we find team driver Brandon Marsh. He recently went to the city of Strasburg to compete in a Halloween trophy race at Magic Hobbies. He registerd for three classes and would take the TQ and W in the Mod 2wd and 17.5 Buggy classes along with 13.5 4wd Buggy! Also making the podium for the team in Mod 2wd Buggy was JConcepts driver Aaron Pendleton!

Moving up to Michigan we catch up with team driver Brady Carrico. This past weekend he raced at RC One Racing in the town of Macomb for their 5th Annual Chiller Thriller Off-Road Race, and he would become a triple threat as he took three TQ and wins in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Our next stop is at Eli Field in Monticello IL for the 4th Annual Hall Brothers Classic. Team driver Josh Rhodes reported that his Grave Digger 2 ride won the first Retro Racing bracket! His replica Grave Digger LMT Warpath 4 won the second bracket of Pro Modified! His Black Pearl Goblin monster truck took 2nd in Bracket 1 on the figure 8, and then won Bracket 2 on the big So Cal styled track! This truck also won the overall championship in the Sport Modified class as well!

Also competing at this event for the team was JC pilot Dustin Spallone, and his Colossus replica ride would take the Freestyle Championship that weekend!

Moving over to Missouri we stop in at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs for our next report. Team driver Orlando Martinez recently competed in their opening round of their Winter Series, and he is off the great start and he finish finished 2nd in 17.5 2wd Buggy, plus the TQ and win in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Kicking it over to Kansas we now stop in at Bumps RC Speedway in Osage City. Team driver Shane Alberico recently visited this track to race in their Boogeyman Shootout dirt oval event, and when the dust had settled he would finish with the TQ and win in the Open Sprint class!

Down in Oklahoma team driver Tyler Keel competed last weekend at the 10th Annual Nightmare on Dirt at Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon which saw 156 entries! He set the TQ in the Open Sprint class, but had a rough A Main and finished 7th overall with a DNF, but his car was running fast that weekend on JConcepts products!

Shooting down to Texas let’s see how the team finished up at the recent WFO Dirt Oval Series race that took place at N-Control RC Racing Circuit in city of Dale. Team driver Jordan Hefler competed in the Outlaw Sprint, Late Model and SC Mod classes and snagged the top qualifying spot in all of them! When the mains were ran he would finish 2nd in Late Model after a late DNF, but secured the wins in the other two classes! He was joined on the SC Mod podium by fellow JC driver Kevin Lenderman, and Kevin also grabbed another 2nd place finish in the 10.5 Sprint class too!

Next, we head to Fort Collins, CO where the E-Team Hobbyplex is located. Team driver Sam Ford recently visited this facility to compete in their 2024 Boo Bash Halloween trophy race, and he would grab the TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Our next stop is at AMain Silver Dollar RC Raceway in Chico, CA. This facility hosted the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks (Not So) Summer Showdown event last weekend. Let’s see how the team finished up starting with JConcepts driver Jeremy Bunting who not only raced in this event, but he acted as the race director too! He reported that he made the semi-finals with his Shotgun truck in the Retro class! He also made the semi-finals with his Bad Company replica truck in the in Challenger class too! In the Freestyle class he finished in the top 5 with his Carnage ride as well!

Also competing at this race was his tire teammate Michael Letcher. He would set the TQ then take the win in the Retro class with his Jus’ Showin Off monster truck! In the Pro Mod Racing class he entered two trucks, and his Thor rig would take the win to make him a back to back champion!

Heading north we now make our way to DieHard RC in Snohomish, WA to see how our drivers finished up at the 1st round of the Diehard series that saw 156 entries! Team driver Ashon Bristol reported that he doubled down at this round with two TQs and wins in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy class! JC driver Tyler Wilbur also competed in these same two classes, and in the Mod 2wd A Main he had some bad luck as he finished early with a DNF, but he had better luck in Mod wheeler as he locked up 2nd overall!

Now let’s get some racing updates from our Australian team starting with team driver Jarod Ment. He recently made the trip to the Australian capital of Canberra to race in the finals for a 1/8 off-road series. He just missed out securing the TQ spot for the 30 minute finals, but after the main was ran he would come away with the victory!

Also competing at this race was JC driver Ben Panic. He would also make the finals and finish in 5th, and his son Zac would set the TQ in the Juniors class then race on to finish in 2nd place!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Darren Johnston. Last weekend he attended the last round of the West Australian electric off-road interclub series on the blue Astro turf at Belmont RC Car Club in Perth. He competed in the Mod 4wd Buggy class and he would finish 2nd for the finals, and when the series points were tallied up he would finish in 3rd place!
