Race Team Update – December 2024 Week #2

It is another winning weekend for the JConcepts race team. Read about our continued success on tracks around the globe in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in the Pacific Northwest region. Round 4 of the DieHard RC Experience took place last weekend at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, WA which brought out 165 entries!

Team driver Ashon Bristol competed in this most recent round and came away with the double TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes! Joining him on the Mod 2wd podium was fellow JC driver Tyler Wilbur!

Speaking of Tyler he also finished 2nd in Mod 4wd Buggy, plus he picked up the win in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class!

Now we send it south to sunny California to see how the team finished up at the recent 2024 So Cal Monster Trucks Winter Finals at the Boneyard in the city of Menifee.

Starting with JC driver Michael Letcher he reported that he entered two trucks in both the Pro Mod and Retro classes. He made it to the quarter finals in the Pro Mod bracket while in Retro he made it to the semi finals!

Also competing at this event was fellow team driver Jeremy Bunting in the same two classes. His Carnage truck made it to the 3rd round of Pro Mod bracket 1, while his Illuminator replica ride made it Round 3 of Pro Mod bracket 2! In the Retro class his Shotgun truck made it to the quarter finals in bracket 1!

Taking three wins at this event was JConcepts president himself Jason Ruona. He competed in both the Retro and Pro Mod classes, and he came home with one win in Retro and two wins in Pro Mod!

Shooting over to Texas we now visit 4way Speedway in the city of Abilene. There we find team driver Jordan Hefler who recently competed in their Candy Cane Classic dirt oval event. He competed in three classes and would finish the night with a TQ and DNF in Midget Sprint, a TQ and 2nd place finish in Midwest Mod, and finally he picked up a win in the Late Model class!

Kicking it up to Kansas we get our next update from team driver Ken Peterson. This past Saturday he went to RC Pitstop and Raceway in Newton for Round 1 of their Winter Carpet Wars series. He would end the round with a 3rd place finish in Mod 2wd Buggy, and taking the win was his tire teammate Mason Herrick!

Moving over to Missouri we head to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs for this quick update from team driver Orlando Martinez. Last Wednesday was Round 3 of their Wednesday Night points series, and he would gain some key series points with a TQ and 2nd place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy along with the W in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Our next stop is at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. They recently held another round of their carpet off-road series, and team driver David Peavler doubled up at this round with two TQs and wins in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck classes!

Now we jump on I-80 and head east towards Crash’n Bash Hobbies in Cedar Rapids, IA. This past weekend was the 1st round of the Iowa Off-road Winter Camp Series, and team driver Jake Wiggs competed in four classes with solid results!

  • 13.5 Stadium Truck = 1st place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = 1st place
  • 17.5 Stock Buggy = 2nd place
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy = 4th place

Also competing at this race for the team was JConcepts pilot Jacob Sweisberger. He also signed up for the same classes and put in some great work on the track!

  • 13.5 Stadium Truck = TQ and 5th place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = TQ and 6th place
  • 17.5 Stock Buggy = 3rd place
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy = 2nd place

Working our way into Wisconsin we now visit Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken.

Over the weekend they hosted Round 8 of their Winter points series, and team driver Ryan Derenne would finish 6th overall in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy along with a 4th place finish in Mod Stadium Truck!

Also throwing down fast laps for the team at this race was fellow JConcepts driver Richie Peters. He competed in three classes and would end the round with a pair of 2nd place finishes in Mod 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus the victory in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Our next stop is at RJ’S Speedrome Carpet Oval Raceway in Lehighton, PA. They recently held their Santa’s Shootout trophy event, and team driver Matt Adams would finish 5th in the Midget Sprint class, plus a 2nd place finish in the 360 Sprint class!

Heading down the coastline we not visit the Track in Gaithersburg, MD. Over the past weekend they held their Holiday Blast trophy race, and team driver Jose Zayas had himself a day as he took the triple TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes plus he picked up the win in Mini Truggy!

Heading more down the coast we now visit Beach RC in Myrtle Beach, SC. They recently held their Jingle Bell Jam event and team driver Ryan Caudle put on a dominating performance with three TQs and four wins at this event!

  • Mod 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy = 1st place
  • Pro2 Short Course Truck = TQ and 1st place
  • Mini Truggy = TQ and 1st place

Flying down to Florida we touch down at Callahan Off-Road RC Raceway in the city of Callahan. This past weekend they hosted the finals for the 2024 JConcepts Florida RC Championship 8th Series that brought out 222 entries! Let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Gene Shrout Jr. He reported that for the finals he would finish 3rd in Open 1/8 Electric Buggy and 2nd place in Pro4 Short Course Truck! When the season points were tallied up he would finish 2nd in e buggy and 1st place in Pro4!

Also throwing down laps at this event was team driver Carlos Gonzalez. He competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and after the AA Mains were ran he would take home the TQ and 1st place!

Team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. competed in two classes at the finals. In the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class he would finish 3rd overall, while in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Truggy class he would secure the TQ and win! Joining him on the nitro truggy podium was fellow JC driver Joshua Vicidomini!

Staying in Florida we now visit Ron’s Raceway in Brookesville for this quick update from team driver Tom Sherman. This past weekend they held their St. Jude charity race that brought out 129 entries! He competed in the Late Model class and would lock up 2nd place on the podium!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Jordan Isergin. He recently competed at the Victorian 1/10 off-road State Titles that was held at Knox in Melbourne.

 

He signed up for three classes and would finish the day with a 4th place finish in Mod 4wd Buggy, a 3rd place finish in Mod 2wd Buggy and 2nd place in the Mod Stadium Truck class!
