Race Team Update – January 2025 Week #3

As the temps continue to fall outside the JConcepts race team stays red hot on tracks around the nation. Read about our continued success in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in the upper Northeast at DPRC (Dynamic Performance RC) in Littleton, NH. They recently held their January Freeze trophy event, and team driver Antonio Caputo finished 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy, 2nd in 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus the TQ and win in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Moving to Massachusetts we now catch up with team driver Matt Perault. Last weekend he went to RC Excitement in Fitchburg to sign up for their 20th Annual Snowball trophy race, and he would finish 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy along with a first place finish in 40+ 2wd Buggy!

Now we head to Ed’s RC in Parkersburg, PA for our next report. JConcepts driver Brandon Marsh attended the 3rd round of the Midwest Carpet Series that took place there, and he was a triple threat that day as he took wins in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy class along with 13.5 4wd Buggy! Joining him on the 17.5 2wd Buggy podium were fellow JC drivers Evan Cook (2nd), Nathan Clark (3rd) and Daigan Bledsoe (4th)!

His teammate Daigan also raced in 13.5 4wd Buggy where he grabbed another solid 4th place finish!

Also competing at this round for the team was JC driver Wade Piggott who finished 9th in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Moving down to Maryland we stop in at Key City Hobby in Frederick for our next report. Team driver Jason Edwards recently visited this facility to compete in a Last Man Standing event and he took home some good memories plus some cold hard cash!

Heading down the coast we now visit Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC to see how the team performed at Round 5 of their Super 7 Series. Starting with team driver Josh Parrish he reported that he set the TQ in 17.5 2wd Buggy then raced on to pick up the win, plus another W in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class too!

Also competing for the team at this race was team driver Dave McEwen. He let us know that he finished 3rd in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 2nd place in Mod 2wd Buggy, plus the TQ and win in Pro4 Short Course Truck!

JC driver Derrick Harris also threw down laps at this event and just missed the bump spot in the Pro4 class after a six year hiatus of competing in the Short Course Truck class!

Moving to the “Land of Lincoln” let’s see how the team faired at a few different events taking place in the state. Starting in the city of Carbondale where Alpha RC Raceways is located, team driver Wes Miravalle reported that he visited this facility to compete in Round 3 of their Off-Road Winter Series. He would finish the round with a 3rd place finish in Mod 2wd Buggy, plus the TQ and win in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Our next update in the state comes to us from team driver Lukas Klein. He recently competed at Crawler Canyon RC Park in Rockdale for the 2nd round of their crawling series. He competed in four classes with much success!

  • Micro C2 = 1st place
  • Micro C3 = 1st place
  • Tiny Tire = 7th place
  • No Scale = 1st place

Moving up to Michigan we catch up with team driver Russ Bryant. He recently visited Excel RC in Garden City to crush the competition in Round 3 of the Michigan Monsters series where he took the TQ and win in the Pro Shafty class!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Zero RC Raceway in Marshfield, WI. This past weekend was Round 1 of the Wisconsin Turf Wars Carpet Series, and team driver Jarret Smith would finish 2nd overall in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Now let’s head down to Iowa to get a few updates from the team competing at different tracks. Our first stop in the state is at Bad Fast Hobbies in Sioux City for the 2nd round of the Iowa Winter Off-Road Series that saw over 100 entries! Starting with team driver Alex Rees he let us know that he finished 4th in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

His tire teammate Jacob Sweisberger competed in three classes for this round. He would finish 3rd in 13.5 4wd and Mod 2wd Buggy along with a 2nd place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Fellow JC driver Jake Wiggs has himself a day as he took 3 TQs and wins in the four classes he registered in!

  • 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • 13.5 Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy = 4th place

Our next top in the state is at Traction City RC in Webster City. This past weekend was another round of their Off-Road Winter Series, and team driver David Peavler was a triple threat that day as he took the TQ and W in the Expert 17.5 and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Sam Ford. This past weekend he and his family went to the E-Team Hobbyplex in Fort Collins, CO to compete in their Frozen Over trophy event. Sam would finish the event with a TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! His older son Casey finished 8th overall in the same two classes, while his youngest son Cameron finish 4th overall in the 21.5 2wd Buggy class!
