Race Team Update – February 2025 Week #2

Two weeks into the new month and the JConcepts race team stays red hot on RC tracks around the globe. Read about our winning ways in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in the Pacific Northwest at Walla Walla, WA. The Northwest Rage Tour was in town to put on their Winter Rage trophy event that saw 253 entries!

Team driver Evan Roeth attended this race and put in some great results!

  • 1/8 Electric Buggy = 1st place
  • 1/8 Electric Truggy = 1st place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy = 2nd place
  • Mini Truggy = 3rd place

Heading south we now visit the Good Ol’Boyz RC Club Raceway in Bakersfield, CA for our next report. Team driver Dennis Wilson recently competed there for a trophy event and he would finish in 1st place for the 40+ 1/8 Open Class!

Shooting over to Texas we now get our next update from JC driver Todd Geary. Over the weekend he went to Thornhill Racing Circuit in Hutto for the 2025 MSM Southern Showdown Race that was held there. He competed in three classes and would finish 16th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 6th place in 1/8 Nitro Truggy and 4th place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy! Joining him on the podium were fellow JC drivers Mark Morrow (3rd) and Edwin Ortiz (5th)!

Moving over to Missouri let’s get a few updates from the team competing in different events. Starting with JConcepts driver Brad Dean over the weekend he went to All Star Speedway in Fredricktown to put down some left turn laps in their Winter Nationals that saw 125 entries! He signed up for three classes, and when the dust had settled he would finish just shy of bumping to the A Main in Outlaw Sprint, but he had better results in the Open Late Model and Midwest Modified classes as he took the double TQ and win!

Our next stop in the “Show Me State” is at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs. Last week was the 5th round of their Wednesday Night points series, and team driver Orlando Martinez took home the double win in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Moving over one state we now visit Alpha RC Raceways in Carbondale, IL.

This past weekend they held Round 4 of their Carpet Off-Road Winter Series, and team driver Wes Miravalle let us know that he finished 2nd overall in the Mod 2wd Buggy class, plus he grabbed the TQ and win in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Working our way up to Wisconsin we now stop in at Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI. This past weekend they held their Best of the Rest trophy race and JConcepts driver Ryan Derenne registered for two classes.

When the race program was complete he would finish 8th in Mod Stadium Truck along with a 5th place finish in 40+ 2wd Buggy!

Moving over to Michigan we now visit the Sandpit RC in Jonesville for our next report. Over the weekend team driver Michael Rinke competed in their series event, and he would finish the race with the W in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Staying in the state we now pivot to Charter Township where Larry’s Performance R/C is located at. This past weekend they held their Midwest Carpet Off-Road series event, and JC driver Brandon Marsh competed in three classes with awesome results!

  • 13.5 4wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place

Also competing for the team at this race was his tire teammate Kyle King who finished 5th overall in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Onward to Ohio we now visit QCRC (Queen City RC) in the city of Lebanon.

They recently held their Mack Daddy trophy race, and team driver Charles Hicks reported that he took home the win in the 40+ 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Making our way to York, ME we now visit Maximus R/C Raceway. Over the weekend they held their 2025 Nor’ Easter trophy race, and team driver Matthew Sousa let us know that he would set the TQ in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Unfortunately in the mains he would suffer a DNF, but he was able to bounce back in the Mod 2wd Buggy class with a 2nd place finish!

Heading down the East Coast we now visit Key City Hobby in Frederick, MD for out next report. Team driver Jason Edwards recently competed in a rock crawling event where he took the win in the Class 2 category!

Continuing down the coast we now visit Virginia R/C Motorsports in Richmond, VA. This past weekend was the finals for their Winter point series, and after the season points were calculated team driver Tyler Pittman would finish in 1st place finish for the Young Guns class!

Next, we head to Thunder Alley R/C in Lucama, NC for this quick update from team driver Josh Parrish. Last weekend was Round 6 of their Super 7 Series and he would take the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Going over to Georgia now we stop in at the city Loganville where the Loganville RC Complex is located. Team driver Chris VanRaemdonck competed there over the weekend for the Georgia Off-Road Championship Series, and he went back home with his hands full as he took the wins in Pro 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy, 1/8 Electric Truggy, plus Mod 2wd Buggy!

Flying down to Florida we now stop in at Newred Hobbies in Ocala. This past weekend they hosted the opening round of the 1/10 Florida RC Championship series, and team driver Hunter King is off to great start as he took the double TQ and win in the Pro 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! Joining him on the 2wd podium were fellow JC drivers JR Mitch (2nd), Edwin McTureous (3rd) and Kyle Paquette (4th)!

Now let’s get some updates from our International team starting with team driver Logan Toia. He reported that he recently competed in the 2025 Counties Cup that was hosted by the Counties Radio Controlled Car Club in Pukekohe, New Zealand. He would finish 2nd in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class along with the TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Heading over to Australia let’s see how the team finished up at the recent NSW Racing League inaugural event held in Maitland, NSW, Australia. Starting with team driver Ben Panic he reported that he finished 7th in Mod 4wd Buggy and 5th place in Mod 2wd Buggy!

His son Zac would set the TQ then race on to finish 2nd in the Juniors class!

Team drivers Jarod Ment and Lachlan Donnelly battled it out in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes at this race. Lachlan would get the best of Jarod at this event as he took the double TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes with Jarod right behind him in 2nd place!
