Friday5 With Team Driver David Longaker

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to New Jersey team driver, David Longaker!

1. When you first got into RC racing, what pro driver did you look up to and why? Or maybe there was a local/regional driver that you followed?

When I first got into racing I looked up to a Regional/local driver Steve Charles. Steve is the person that got me into racing in the first place in 2018. I looked up to him not only for knowledge, expertise, and help, but Steve is now one of my best friends in the whole world!

2. This year you joined JConcepts as a new team driver. What are some of your goals for this year and what do you think you can bring or add to the existing team?

This year is full of excitement for me. I got a little taste of 1/8 last fall and I kind of got hooked on it. I’m very eager to get to the dirt track in the Northeast this spring and summer, along with racing on my hometown turf track! I feel joining the JConcepts team is not only a huge honor, but it is an achievement for myself. I’ve been pushing for this the past couple years and I’m very grateful to have been given this opportunity. I might not always be on the top of every race, but I’ll be the first guy in the pits to help someone out!

3. What class do you prefer to compete in today, and why?

I race everything from 1/10 stock Buggy to 1/8 nitro Truggy, but overall my favorite class is definitely 13.5 4wd Buggy. This class is so competitive and it always gets my heart pumping.

4. When it comes to new products released from JConcepts, what are you most excited to see released and why?

I always like looking fast standing still, so I’ll stay bodies! Some of the best I’ve tried. These bodies give me the perfect balance of corner stability and straight line speed.

5. You are obviously highly skilled when it comes to RC cars, but what is one skill or hidden talent that folks might be surprised to find out about you?

Currently I am in school for baking and pastry! What I like best is decorating cakes, cookies and cupcakes.
