Race Team Update – March 2025 Week #2

Even losing an hour of sleep couldn’t keep the JConcepts race team from reaching the podium on tracks around the world. Read about our global success in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report at Alpha RC Raceways in Carbondale, IL.

Last weekend was Round 5 of their Carpet Off-Road Winter Series, and team driver Wes would finish the series with a 1st place finish in both the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes!

Team products used:

Crossing the Mississippi River we now head to Traction City RC in Webster City, IA.

Last weekend was their March Mayhem event, and team driver Jake Wiggs competed in three classes with great results!

  • 13.5 Stadium Truck – 1st place
  • 17.5 2wd Buggy – TQ & 2nd place
  • 13.5 4wd Buggy – TQ & 2nd place

Also competing for the team at this race was fellow JC driver David Peavler. He would TQ both the 40+ 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck classes then race on to finish 2nd in truck and take the win in 40+!

Heading up I-35 we now visit Dollar Hobbyz in Woodbury, MN to see how the team finished up over the weekend as they put down laps at their 2025 Minnesota Icebreaker trophy race.

Starting with team driver Kyle Holmberg he let us know that he finished 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy, set the TQ and grabbed 2nd place in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus he took the TQ and win in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy! Joining him on the 17.5 2wd podium in 2nd place was fellow JC driver Thor Ott!

Also throwing down laps for the team was JConcepts driver Joe Zaier Jr. He would sign up for the 13.5 Stadium Truck class and finished 2nd overall!

JC pilot Tyler Aubart competed in two classes at this race and he would end the event with a 5th place finish in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy and 6th place in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Working our way into Wisconsin we now visit Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in the city of New Franken.

Last weekend was the 8th session of their Winter Series, and team driver Ryan Derenne would finish 6th in 40+ 2wd Buggy along with a 4th place finish in Mod Stadium Truck!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Sandpit RC in Jonesville, MI for our next update. This past weekend they held another round of their electric off-road series, so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Michael Rinke.

He competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and would seal the deal with a TQ and W!

His tire teammate Kyle King would finish 10th in this class along with a 3rd place finish in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

JConcepts driver Chuck Berg would also compete in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and finish 8th overall!

Heading out east more we now visit Trains and Lanes Hobbies in Easton, PA. This past weekend they held their annual cash trophy race, and team driver David Longaker would set the TQ in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! After the mains were ran he would finish 2nd in both classes, plus net himself some hard earned cash!

Moving south along the coastline we next visit Adrenaline RC in Winchester, VA. This past weekend was the opening round of their 1/8 Spring Points Series and team driver Javon Mallory would start off the series strong with a TQ and win in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Also competing at this series was team driver Brian Miskolczi, and he would finish 3rd overall in this class too!

His son Layton would finish in 8th place for the Open 1/8 Electric Buggy class as well!

Heading even further south we now visit Beach RC in Myrtle Beach, SC. Last weekend they held their Palmetto Classic trophy race which sadly was the last event they would hold in this location as they search for a new home. The JConcepts team was out in full force for this final event so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Josh Parrish.

He reported that he would finish 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy along with a 3rd place finish in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Team driver Darren Windsor raced in three classes for this event, and he would finish 11th in Pro Mod 2wd Buggy, 4th in Pro Mod 4wd Buggy, and a 3rd place finish in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Team driver Maddy Long would take the win in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class along with a 1st place finish in Mod 4wd Buggy and 3rd place finish in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

JC driver Jason Westfall would finish this final event with a 5th place finish in 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy!

JConcepts driver Dave McEwen competed in five classes this past weekend, and he put in solid results in all of them!

  • 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy – 1st place
  • Mod 2wd Short Course Truck – TQ and 2nd place
  • 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy – 3rd place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy – 5th place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy – 7th place

He also earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week for competing in the most classes at one event too!

JConcepts driver Ryan Caudle raced in four classes at this event and he also put in some great work as well!

  • Mini Truggy- TQ and 1st place
  • Mod 2wd Short Course Truck – TQ and 2nd place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy – 3rd place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy – 7th place

Team driver Chris VanRaemdonck also threw down laps at this final event, and he would leave the track with a 1st place finish in both the Mod 2wd and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy classes!

Now we head down to Florida to get this quick update from team driver Zachary Schmidt. Last weekend was Round 2 of the Florida RC Championships that took place at the Coral Springs RC Track in Coral Springs. He signed up for the Pro 17.5 2wd Buggy class where he locked up the final podium spot! Joining him on the 17.5 podium were his teammates Jader Lopez (1st), Fabrizio Martello (2nd) and Edwin McTureous (3rd)!

Moving west we now visit Race Place RC in Oklahoma City, OK.

Last weekend was their grand opening and the JConcepts team got off to a great start as team drivers Mason Herrick, (2nd and TQ) Tyler Keel (1st) and Mike Stoll swept the podium in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Flying out west we now visit SDRC Raceway in sunny San Diego, CA for our next report. Team driver Chris Raceles attended this facility last Saturday for Round 2 of their 2025 Supercross Series. When the dust had settled he would set the TQ in both the 40+ 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, then race on to finish 2nd in 2wd and pick up the win in 4wd!

Heading north we now stop in at Camano Island, WA where Round 8 of the DieHard series took place and it brought out 196 entries! Team driver Aaron Brooks was there competing for the team and he would take the W in the Mod 4wd Buggy class! Joining him on the podium in 3rd was fellow JConcepts driver Ashton Bristol in 3rd place!

Staying in the state we now head over to Tacoma where Tacoma R/C Raceway can be found at. Round 4 of the NIS (Northwest Indoor Series) was held there last weekend, and team driver Andrew Beauchamp would finish 4th in Mod 2wd Buggy along with a 2nd place finish in Mod 4wd Buggy! Taking the win in Mod wheeler was his JConcepts teammate Harley Yoshi!

Crossing the border we now head to Outlaw RC in Surrey, BC, Canada. There we find team driver Evan Roeth who went there recently to compete in the 7th round of their points series. He registered for the 13.5 4wd Buggy class and would bring home 2nd place along with the TQ!

Next, let’s check in with our Australian team who has been busy competing at different events. Last weekend was the Keilor Invitational in Melbourne, and this race uses a Reedy race style format with 10 rounds of heads up racing in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes.

After the event points were tallied up team driver Lachlan Donnelly would take overall win, and he was joined on the podium by fellow JC drivers Lachlan Munday (2nd) and Jordan Isergin (3rd) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Turning to Canberra let’s see how the team finished up at the recent ACT state titles event that was held there. Starting with team driver Alex Bernadzik he reported that he would set the double TQ then roll out to also take the double win in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Ben Panic. He also competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and he would finish 9th overall while his son Zac finished 2nd overall in the Junior class!
