This past weekend was the inaugural Vintage Clash of Champions hosted by Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany, Indiana. This was an absolutely epic event highlighting some of the biggest legends in RC racing and commemorating those that have passed. For some of the racers in attendance, this was a chance to catch up after a decade or more of being away. A big reunion with a side of racing at the epic facility.
The winners of every class chose to use JConcepts Smoothies which was quite a feat and an honor for the company!
A lot of the attendees were able to battle it out with either their old equipment or replicas of what they raced with back in the day. There was a multitude of classes highlighted by the Legends Invitational class.
A large majority of racers were found to be utilizing JConcepts Smoothie 2.0 Tires in Silver Compound along with a variety of JConcepts accessories for the vintage and modern rides. JConcepts has you covered in all eras!
Seeding practice would start to show where racers were at pace wise and JC drivers would find themselves at the top or near the top in the following classes:

A few years ago one of the greatest of all time, Brian Kinwald, passed away and Team Associated thought this would be good weekend to commemorate the legend with a $10,000 donation to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
With the passing of Brian Dunbar this year it was very emotional to have the Dunbar family on hand for the event. Brian was a huge part of making this event a success and a local racer and supporter of Hoosier RC Hobbyplex. Thank you to Mr. Dunbar for sticking around to hand out the Invitational trophies to end the weekend!
Moving into qualifying it became clear that not only speed but also caution would be the name of the game this weekend. The high speed and high grip level would be tough on drivers pushing the limits with 10, 20, and 30 year old equipment.
