This past weekend the JConcepts Oval Team headed out to Illinois to BB Mods Raceway for the 2025 Spring Dirt Oval Nationals! Over 130 entries showed up battling some crazy winds but that didn’t take away from the epic track conditions and racing all weekend.
The JConcepts tire of choice for the weekend was Sprinters in Blue Compound which are extremely versatile and useful from new all the way down to slicks.
Friday started with practice followed by a single round of qualifying. Saturday continued with 2 more rounds of qualifying followed by the main events. Starting order for the mains were determined by race points which takes your finishing position from each round of qualifying and adds them together. Lowest amount of points from finishing positions starts 1st and so on, highest amount of points starts last.
After all 3 rounds the following drivers found the most success on JConcepts Sprinters:
Mod Sprint: 2nd Tyler Hooks, 3rd Kyle Layton
Late Model: 2nd Coale Colbert (JC Privateer), 4th Tyler Hooks
Next up was the main events, the top 5 drivers qualified directly into the main events with 2 drivers bumping up from each lower main.
Modified Sprint: 1st Nick Henderson, 2nd Tyler Hooks (JC), 3rd Kyle Layton (JC)
Late Model: 1st Izzy Vallyo, 2nd Tyler Hooks (JC), 3rd Brian Jucha (JC)
13.5 Sprint: 1st Chris Williams, 2nd Brian Lettrich, 3rd Brian Blanton
