Friday5 With Team Driver Dalton Hashbarger

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Florida team driver, Dalton Hashbarger!

1. Ok let’s start with how you got first involved in RC. Did you pick it up from someone, stumbled across a local track, etc.?

It all started with my dad. He was into RC airplanes his whole life. When I was young he got me my own RC airplane for Christmas. A few years later when I was around 10 years old or so, I decided to spend all my savings on my first RC car and ever since that day I’ve been hooked.

2. For the rest of 2025 what races, series, or other RC related event are you looking forward to attending and why?

There are a few races I’m excited for this year. The Florida Carpet Championship at my home track Beachline Raceway is a must do event for me every year. Heavy competition and great racing makes for one of the best races of the year in my opinion. I also plan on attending 1/8 Florida RC Championship series. It’s always a great weekend hanging out with friends and running some nitro.

3. When it comes to racing for hardware, which format do you prefer? A three day event that takes up the entire weekend, or a smaller series race that might only be Friday and Saturday? Or even a weekly points night?

It depends on the race for me, but I would say I enjoy running a smaller series race that is a 2 day event. That way I can still have some fun racing RC on the weekend, but be able to relax on Sunday and get ready for the work week ahead.

4. When it comes to new products released from JConcepts, what are you most excited to see released and why?

New tires are always something I look forward to, especially new carpet tires. It gives me a something new to base my car setups off of, and it’s also nice to have another option when it comes to picking tires for different track layouts and conditions.

5. Obviously you are into RC racing but what other activities do you find enjoyment with?

Although work and RC takes up 90% of my time, I always enjoy boating on the intracoastal and traveling to new places around the U.S.
