Race Team Update – April 2025 Week #4

The JConcepts race team continues to rain down on the competition for the 3rd weekend of April which you can read for yourself in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down at Ron Jon Raceway in Brooksville, FL. They put on their 2025 Wild West Shootout dirt oval event that saw 139 entries over the previous weekend! Team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. competed in the 13.5 Mudboss class where he set the TQ and finished 2nd overall while running this event as the race director too!

Moving north we head to the 2025 North Georgia Shootout that was held at the Rabun Arena in Tiger, GA. This event brought out 404 entries so let’s how the team finished up starting with team driver Shay Brand. He competed in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes along with Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy. When the event was over he would finish 2nd in both buggy classes plus picked up the win in truggy!

Team drivers Maddy Long and Rusty Mihelich were also racing at this event, and Maddy would finish 4th in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 3rd in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus 2nd place in both the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Truggy classes! Her father Rusty would finish 3rd in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy plus 1st place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Making our way up the coast we now visit Cruizin with RC’s in Waldwick, NJ. Last weekend they held their Sprint Shootout trophy event and team driver David Longaker would double down with wins in 13.5 4wd Buggy and Stadium Truck!

Continuing to the northeast we stop in at RC Madness in Enfield, CT to see how the team performed at their season opener. Starting with team driver Eric Bresnahan he reported that he finished 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 1st place in Stadium Truck!

His tire teammate John Cravotta competed in both 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy. He would race on to finish 5th in 2wd along with a 3rd place finish in 13.5 wheeler! Joining him on the 13.5 wheeler podium was fellow JC driver Matt Sousa!

Heading west we now visit the state of Pennsylvania where different RC events took place over the weekend. Our first update is from LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills which saw 351 entries for their season opener! Team driver Matt Williard was at this event and he let us know that he finished 11th overall in 1/8 Electric Truggy along with a 2nd place finish in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy!

JConcepts driver Colton Furnari competed in three classes and would finish 7th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, 3rd in Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy as well as a 2nd place finish in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! His tire teammate Benjamin Decker also threw down some fast laps too as he finished 5th in Expert 1/8 Nitro buggy plus 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Truggy!

JC driver Tom Petrella let us know that he would finish 12th in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 7th overall in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Team driver Aydan Manchanda competed in three classes with great results!

  • Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy = 2nd place
  • Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy= 2nd place
  • Expert 1/8 Nitro buggy = 10th place

Joining him on the Expert e buggy podium were fellow JC drivers Ethan Mackanick (4th) and Greg Harmer (5th)!

Team driver Vin Manchanda signed up for two classes at this race, and he would finish 6th overall in the B Mains for both the Expert 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes!

Our next stop in the state is at the Rausch Creek Off-Road Park just outside of Tremont. This past weekend they held their Supershafty Spring Shootout, and team driver Jason Edwards was fired up as landed two podium spots in Class 2 and 3!

Our 3rd update from this state comes to us courtesy of team driver Tyler Pittman. Over the weekend he raced at the 3rd Annual Underdog Oval RC race at Deer Run RC Speedway in Gardners.

He registered for two classes and would take home the double TQ and win in the Under 15 and 21.5 Sprint Car classes!

Onward to Ohio we now visit TARCAR in the city of Toledo.

This past weekend was also their season opened, and team driver Kyle King was ready to roll as he finished 10th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and also grabbed a 3rd place in 1/8 Nitro Truggy!

His JC teammate Mike Legue competed in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, and he would finish with the TQ in e buggy plus wins in both classes after the dust had settled!

Bouncing over to the “Hoosier” state we roll up to the Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany, IN.

This past weekend they hosted the ROAR Region 5 Electric 1:10 Off-Road Championships, and team driver Ryan Derenne would just miss the bump to the A Main in 40+ 2wd Buggy along with a 7th place finish in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

JConcepts driver Wesley Gifford would set the TQ but unfortunately finish with a DNF in Mod 2wd Buggy. He had better luck in the Mod 4wd Buggy class and he raced on to take the W! Joining him on the mod wheeler podium in 3rd place was his tire teammate Talon Henley!

Our next stop is at the Dream Fields Coliseum in Waterloo, IL that saw 115 entries for a recent monster truck event! Team driver Chris Parrish was in attendance and his Bear Foot Racer truck would make the finals for Bracket 1, then turn around and make the finals again but this time he came away with the victory in Bracket 2 for the Retro Clod class! In ProMod bracket 1 his Indominus replica made it to Round 4 of 6 while his Boss Fight rig made it to the semi finals for ProMod Bracket 2!

Sending it south we now visit GS Hobby in Barling, AR. This past weekend they hosted their 13th Annual Judge trophy race that saw 134 entries! We had many drivers in attendance so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Shane Alberico. He let us know that he signed up for both the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and he would be sentenced to a 4th place finish in 2wd Buggy along with the TQ and win in the wheeler class!

Team driver Braden Bruce also competed in these same two classes and would end the event with a 5th place finish in 2wd and a 2nd place finish in wheeler!

JConcepts driver Matthew Pyle also raced in both spec classes where he finished 10th in 13.5 4wd and 6th overall in 17.5 2wd!

JC driver David Alberico would lock up the 3rd podium spot for both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes! Taking the TQ and W in the mod wheeler class was his JC teammate Braxten Culley, and Braxten would also finish 2nd in Mod 2wd! Rounding out the mod wheeler podium for the team was JC pilot Brennan Schimmel to complete the JConcepts Podium sweep! Brennan would also bring home the W in the Mod 2wd class too!

Moving up to Missouri let’s get a few quick updates from the team competing at different RC races. Starting with JC driver Wes Miravalle this past weekend he competed in the series opener at St. Louis Dirt Burners in the city of Kirkwood.

This series event brought out 224 entries, and he would miss the bump to the main event for the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, but he was on fire in the Gas Truck class as he took the TQ and win!

Our next pit stop in the “show me state” is as Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs.

This past weekend they held a memorial dirt oval race for a local racer, and team driver Jeremy Cathlina would take the double win in the Midwest Mod and Late Model classes!

Our next stop is at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. This past weekend they held their annual spring trophy race that saw 133 entries! Competing there for the team was JC driver Jake Wiggs who swept all of his classes as he took home the TQ and win in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class, plus 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Also competing for the team at this race was JC driver Mason Herrick. He raced in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy, and would finish 5th in mod wheeler and 2nd in Mod 2wd! Joining him on the podium to complete the JConcepts podium sweep were fellow team drivers Alex Vanderbeek (1st) and Nick Gibson (3rd)!

JConcepts driver David Peavler was also at this race and he would finish 5th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy along with a 3rd place finish in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy!

We now pivot back to Trackside Hobbies & Raceway in Brookfield, WI for this quick report from JC driver Tyler Aubart. He visited this track last weekend to throw down laps at their Chicken Wing Classic trophy race. He would finish the day with a 4th place finish in 13.5 4wd buggy as well as the TQ and W in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Jeremy Bunting. This past weekend he attended Round 2 of the WrenchHead RC Short Course Series in Oroville, CA.

He competed in the Pro2 class and would finish 3rd overall!
