Race Team Update – May 2025 Week #1

The first week of racing in May is in the books and the JConcepts race team continues to rack up wins around the globe! Read about our winning ways in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out west in the state of Washington. There were several RC events taking place throughout the state so our first tour stop is at DieHard RC in Camano Island. This past weekend was another round of their points series, and team driver Tyler Wilbur reported that he would finish 3rd in 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus pick up the TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

The next day they held a six hour team enduro race and Tyler was back at work with his fellow JC driver Aaron Brooks. Together their team would take 1st place by putting down 1,281 laps which is equal to 83 miles!

Our next stop in the state is in the city of Walla Walla that Round 1 of the Northwest Championship Tour took place and it saw 155 entries! Team driver Shane Preugschat competed in three classes, and when the event was over he would finish 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 2nd in 1/8 Nitro Truggy, plus the TQ and W in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Our next stop is at 2CRC Raceway in Nampa, ID. This past weekend they held their Margarita Bowl dirt oval event, and JConcepts driver Shane Wheeler was there representing the team. He competed in four classes and would finish with a DNF in Midwest Mod, a 4th place finish in Late Model, the TQ and a 3rd place finish in Midget Sprint and a 2nd place finish in the 410 Sprint class!

Now we head to sunny California to get a few updates from the team competing at different tracks. Team driver Jeremy Bunting let us know that this past weekend he went to Rescue RC Raceway in the city of Rescue since they were host to Round 1 of the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks Points Series.

He would double up at this event as he came away with the TQ and wins in both the 2.6″ Monster Truck and Retro classes! He also won the Challenger Class bracket too with his “Titan” replica truck!

Staying in the state we now move to SDRC Raceway in San Diego. There we find team driver Chris Raceles who was competing in Round 1 of the JBRL 1/10 electric off-road series that took place there. After the dust had settled he would finish 3rd in the 40+ 13.5 2wd Buggy class along with a TQ and 2nd place finish in 40+ 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Shooting over to Texas we get our next report from team driver Todd Geary. Round 2 of the MSM Southern Showdown took place at Mike’s Hobby Shop in the city of Porter, and he would finish 5th in Expert 1/8 Nitro buggy, plus a 3rd place finish in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Moving into Missouri we now stop in at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs. It was double header weekend for JC driver Jack Foster as he competed in both their indoor 1/10 Electric Off-Road series as well as their 1/8 Outdoor series that took place on the same day! After all the laps were completed for both events he would finish with a 7th place finish in 13.5 4wd Buggy, a 5th place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy, another 7th place finish in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus a 3rd place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Working our way up to Wisconsin we stop in at Rick’s Hobby Farm in the town of New Richmond for our next update. Last weekend was Round 2 of their point series, and team driver Ben Humphrey would finish 3rd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Joining him on the podium in 1st place was fellow JC pilot Kyle Holmberg!

Heading to the coast we now stop in at Altitude RC in Beckley, WV. Recently they held their Coal Town Showdown trophy race, and team driver Ennis Graves would finish 2nd in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class, while his tire teammate Brayden White would take the TQ and win!

Also competing for the team at this event was fellow JConcepts driver Jim Merritts, and he would finish 6th overall in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class plus a 2nd place finish in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Crossing the stateline into Virginia we stop in at PLRC (Power Line R/C) in Fredericksburg. This past weekend they held their season opener and team driver Brian Miskolczi would take the TQ and W in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Sending it to South Carolina we now visit Sumter RC Raceway in the city of Sumter. This track was host to the most recent edition of the TSOC (Two States One Championship) points series, and team driver Derrick Harris was in attendance. Unfortunately rain would move in to finish the event early, but he still had a great time as he threw down fast laps in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes!

Now let’s get a few updates from our International team who was busy competing at the Asian Buggy Championship that was held in the city of Manila in the Philippines. Team driver Ben Panic would finish 3rd overall in the 45+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Our final update this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Darren Johnston. He would also compete in the 45+ class, but he ran into a few electrical gremlins however he was still able to finish 10th overall in the finals!
