2025 JConcepts Mid-Summer Carpet Indoor Nationals Report

This past weekend the nations top carpet racers headed to Island Speedway in Muscatine, Iowa to battle it out for the Spring Carpet Indoor Nationals as well as a solid warm-up for the upcoming nationals at the facility.

The track boasts a fairly large footprint with a tricky but flowing layout. The facility has fantastic and sprawling pit areas as well as a fully stocked hobby shop with everything a racer could need. There are also areas for rock crawling and dirt oval racing within the facility.

Practice started on Thursday and was scheduled from the first round which is new for 2025. Each racer got the same amount of track time in their respective classes. After seeding the following JConcepts drivers found their way to the front.

4wd Modified: 2nd Broc Champlin, 3rd Spencer Rivkin
17.5 Expert 2wd: 1st Aaron Mitchell, 2nd Nate Sutherland, 3rd Chase Raymond
13.5 Expert 4wd: 1st Nate Sutherland, 2nd Aaron Mitchell, 3rd Dustin Fox
13.5 Stadium Truck: 1st Jovy Levin, 3rd Kyle Holmberg
13.5 Short Course: 2nd Jamie Thompson
40+ 2wd: 1st Brent Thielke, 2nd Jamie Thompson

Qualifying was the usual INS program of qual-points with the best 2/3 rounds counting towards the overall. Top 8 would qualifying from most classes with 2 bumps. The modified 2wd and 4wd classes would have 10 qualify with 1 bump.

Next up would be the main events with epic action throughout the classes!

2wd Modified: Broc Champlin would have a lights out weekend in 2wd modified taking the TQ and the A1 and A2 wins to wrap the weekend up early. Spencer Rivkin would finish 2nd in A1 and take the win with A3 with Broc electing not to run to finish up 2nd and Aydin Horne would round out the podium.

4wd Modified: TQ Spencer Rivkin would win A1 but would fall on trouble in A2 and A3 after that. Broc Champlin would have a tough A1 but rebound to win A2 and A3 to take the overall. With 2 second place finishes Brennan Schimmel would finish up 2nd and Tom Rinderknecht would finish up 3rd with 2 third place finishes.
