Friday5 With Team Driver Jack Foster

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Missouri team driver, Jack Foster!

1. Let’s get a little background on your start to RC racing. Were you introduced to it by a friend, family member, or maybe read about or watched something on social media?

I think around 1985 or 86 my dad bought me an original RC10 and took me to a track in Riverside, MO. That introduced me to the hobby. We raced here and there and I’ve loved the hobby since.

2. This year you joined JConcepts as a new team driver. What are some of your goals for this year and what do you think you can bring or add to the existing team?

My goals this year would be first and foremost, have fun! Improve my consistency on the track. Be in the top five of the indoor and outdoor summer off-road points series at Fastlane Raceway. What I bring to the team: A very good understanding of car setup. Willingness to help as many people as possible and share whatever information I have. Etiquette on and off the track. I will relentlessly work to solve an issue whether it’s mine or someone else’s at the track. I am also extremely competitive.

3. Which type of racing format do you prefer and why. A trophy race that runs over a weekend or a single day event with multiple rounds in a points series?

My favorite format is a single day race points series. I love being in a points battle with multiple people over several weeks of racing. I also enjoy maintaining the cars. I can’t stop tinkering!

4. In your opinion, when heading to the track what is the JConcepts product that is a must have on race day and why?

Must have JConcepts product on race day: without question tires, tires, tires! I am a huge fan of Smoothie 2’s!

5. Name one thing people might be surprised to learn about you.

Something people may be surprised about: I know way more about dance and dance competitions than I should! lol Our 11 year old daughter is an unbelievable dancer and competitor.
