Race Team Update – May 2025 Week #5

The last week in May is another winning one for the JConcepts race team. Read about our continued success around the nation in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in the city of Waccamaw, NC where the Benton BTS Arena Center is located. This venue hosted another RC event over the weekend, the RC Pro-AM. We had several drivers at this unique race so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Derrick Harris. He competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Open 1/8 Truggy classes, and when the event was over he would finish 7th in both!

JConcepts driver Wade Piggott competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes. He would race on to finish 4th in nitro buggy, 3rd in e buggy, and his team would combine to take home 1st place in the e buggy class which netted him a $1,000 purse!

JC driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. was back again at this track for a second weekend in a row, and he would finish 3rd in the open 1/8 Electric Truggy class! Joining him the podium was fellow JConcepts driver Maddy Long in 2nd place!

JConcepts pilot Evan Vail was also at this race and he would lock up 5th place in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Now we head north to Fredrick, MD where Key City Hobby is located. Team driver Jason Edwards recently competed in their The Last Man Standing crawler competition and he would finish 1st in Class 1!

Continuing north we now visit Pit Stop Hobbies in Mount Joy, PA.

This past weekend they held their Spring Bling Cash race, and team driver Brian Miskolczi would finish 3rd in both the Mod 4wd and 1/8 Electric Buggy classes!

Crossing the state line we now visit Barnstormers RC Raceway in Chester, NY. They recently held their Mr. B Day trophy race, and team driver Colton Furnari reported that he took the TQ and W in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Joining him on the e buggy podium in 3rd place was fellow JC driver David Longaker!


David also reported that he would take home the win in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class too!

Heading to the Midwest now we first stop in at Dream Fields Raceway in Waterloo, Illinois. This facility held the 2nd round of the Offtrack R/C summer series that brought out over 112 monster truck entries! Team driver Jeremy Mark reports that he took the overall class title in the Retro Clod class with his Taurus 2 replica ride! His other truck in this class was the Buffalo Tremor 2 and he was able to make it to the semi-finals in racing bracket #1! In the Sport Modified class his Taurus 3 truck was TQ of racing bracket #1, while in the Pro Modified class he grabbed two TQ in racing bracket #1 with his Taurus and Sudden Impact monster trucks!

Also crushing the competition at this event was his tire teammate Chris Parrish. In the Retro Clod class his Equalizer rig took two TQs! In the Sport Modified class his Equalizer truck took the win in the racing bracket, plus it took home the overall championship for the day! In Pro Modified his Boss Fight replica ride would finish 2nd for the day!

Next, we head to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO to see how the team finished up at another round of their Summer Indoor & Outdoor series. Team driver Jack Foster reported that he would finish 7th in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 5th in 13.5 4wd Buggy for the indoor event, and on the outside track he would finish 5th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Team driver Shane Alberico competed in the outside event in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and would lock up 4th place!

JC driver Jake Stoeltzing also competed in this class and would finish 3rd overall!

Now we head up I-35 to FTR (Full Throttle RC Raceway) in Foley, MN. This past weekend this track hosted their May Mayhem trophy race so let’s see how the team finished up starting with JC driver Ben Humphrey. He registered for the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and he would take the TQ and win!

JConcepts driver Joe Scaramell competed in the 35+ 1/8 Nitro Truggy and 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy classes at this event, and he would set the TQ in e buggy then race on to take the win in both classes!

Also running laps at this race was team driver Tyler Aubart. He competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and would finish 2nd for the day!

Crossing the state line we now head to Jamestown, ND where Dakota RC is located. Last weekend was Round 2 of their Summer Series, and team driver Marco Moreno reported that he finished 5th in 1/8 Electric Buggy, 4th in 1/8 Electric Truggy, along with the TQ and win in the Mini Truggy class!

Now we head south and stop in at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. This past weekend was the opening round of their Summer Series that saw 133 entries! Let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Mason Herrick. He reported that he would double down in this round with two TQs and wins in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes! Taking 2nd place in Mod 2wd was his tire teammate Owen Vanderbeek!

Mason’s brother and fellow JC driver Conner Herrick finished 4th in the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Team driver, and Plex race director, Alex Sturgeon reported that he would set the TQ in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy then race on to finish 2nd, plus he picked up another 2nd place finish in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class! Taking the win in the truck class was his son, and JConcepts sponsored driver, Emerson Sturgeon! Filling out the podium to complete the JConcepts podium sweep was team driver TJ Williams in 3rd place!

Speaking of Emerson he would TQ the 13.5 Stadium Truck, Expert 17.5 and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and when the mains had finished he would also take the wins in the buggy classes too! Joining him on the 17.5 podium to complete another JConcepts podium sweep were JC drivers Orlando Martinez (2nd) and TJ Williams (3rd)! Orlando would also make two more podiums in the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy (2nd) and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy (3rd) classes too!

Shooting down to Texas we now visit Thompson R/C Raceway in the city of Justin. This past weekend they held a special Doug Rollo Memorial race, and team driver Kevin Lenderman was in attendance. He would finish the race with a 5th place finish in 10.5 Sprint as well as the win in the Street Stock class! Taking 3rd place in the Street Stock class was JC driver Noel Cerda! Noel would also set the TQ in the Midget Sprint and Midwest Mod classes, then in the mains he would finish 2nd in Midget and 1st place in Midwest Mod!

Last weekend was Round 2 of the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks Points Series held at Rescue RC Raceway in Rescue, CA, and he would take the W in the Retro class with his Carnage monster truck!
