Race Team Update – August 2025 Week #4

The JConcepts race team continues to heat up tracks around the globe in the fourth weekend of racing this month. Read about our continued success in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out east at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. This past weekend they held their Turf USGP trophy event, and team driver John Cravotta would finish 8th overall in 17.5 2wd Buggy class after some bad luck with a marshal, but he bounced back in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class as he locked up 2nd place!

Now we move down to New Jersey to the city of Waldwick where Cruizin with RC’s is located at. Last weekend JC driver David Longaker attended their Heat Wave trophy race, and he would finish 2nd overall in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Next, we make our way to Virginia for some updates from the team competing in different events.

Starting with JConcepts pilot Josh Parrish he reported that he competed in Round 4 of the Battle on the Coast Series held at Coastal RC in the town of Chesapeake, and he would end the round with a TQ and 1st place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Heading to Danville we get our next report from team driver Ryan Rand. He was in town to compete at a trophy event held at Pete’s Pro RC Raceway and Training Facility, and he would school the competition as he grabbed the TQ and W in the Pro 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy along with 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Our last update in the state comes to us from team driver Brian Miskolczi. He recently went to PLRC (Power Line R/C) in Fredericksburg to race in their Backyard Nationals. He competed in the Pro and 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy, and he would set the TQ in Pro e buggy then race on to take the win in both classes!

His son Layton competed in 1/8 Electric Truggy and he would also take home a 1st place award!

Moving back north we now visit LCRC in Oakland Mills, PA. This past weekend they held their Mugen Challenge that brought out 446 entries! We had a lot of team drivers in attendance so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Chuck Berg. He let us know that he competed in the Intermediate 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and would snag the TQ and win!

Team driver Wade Piggott competed in the Expert 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, and he would just miss the bump to the A Main in nitro buggy while also locking up the final podium spot in e buggy with a 5th place finish!

JC driver Daniel Sedler also raced in two classes, and he would suffer a DNF in a lower main for Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, but had better luck in 1/8 Electric Truggy as he finished 2nd overall! Joining him on the e truggy podium in 4th place was his tire teammate Bryan Kata!

JConcepts driver Mark Henry reported that he finished 12th overall in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy, and 5th place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Team driver Steve Culbert finished 4th overall in the Intermediate and 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy classes, and he and team driver Adam Drake combined to win the Pit Crew Challenge too!

JC pilot Michael Rinke signed up for the Expert 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, and he would just miss the transfer spot to the A in the nitro class, but in e buggy he would finish in the A Main 8th overall!

JConcepts team driver Aydan Manchanda registered for three classes at this race. He would finish with a DNF in the A Main in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class, in the B Main for the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class he would finish in 7th place, and in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class he would secure a 8th place finish!

His brother and fellow JC driver Dylan would compete in the Expert 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes, and he would not make the A Mains for either class but still had a great time competing at this event!

Staying in the state we now head to Jersey Shore where Riverview RC Raceway is located at. This past Sunday team driver Matt Adams competed in their 3rd Annual Barb Watkins Memorial race, and he would finish 3rd in Sprint and Late Model, 2nd in Midget Sprint, and he also took the TQ and W in the Traxxas Modified class! He also earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week for competing in the most classes at one RC event too!

Heading to Michigan now we catch up with team driver Kyle King. This past weekend he went to Sandpit RC in Jonesville for their Back To School trophy race.

When the dust had settled he would grab the TQ in 1/8 Electric Truck, then he drove on to take the win plus picked up a 2nd win in 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down in Luxemburg, WI where The Yard RC Raceway is located at. This past weekend was the 24th annual Corn Roast Race that was presented by Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway, and this event saw 124 entries!

Team driver Ryan Derenne was in attendance and he would finish 15th overall in 1/8 Electric Truggy along with a 5th place finish in Mod Stadium Truck!

Heading south to the ‘Land Of Lincoln’ let’s see how the team finished up at some recent events. Starting with team driver Cody Meiferdt he let us know that he traveled to the city of Peoria for the Sworkz Shootout that took place at River City Raceway.

This event saw 124 entries and when it was all said and done he would finish 2nd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Our next update in the state is from JC team driver Kevin Mcnatt. He was in Jacksonville where Jacksonville R/C Speedway is located at to compete in the latest round of the Elite Dirt Oval series. He competed in the SC Mod class and would finish 3rd, plus netted himself the ‘Fast Time’ award too!

Continuing east we now visit the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. This past weekend was another round of their Summer Series so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver, and race director, Alex Sturgeon. He reported that he doubled down for this race with two TQs and wins in the 13.5 Stadium Truck and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy classes! Joining him on the truck podium in 2nd place was fellow JC driver TJ Williams!

JC driver Mason Herrick registered for the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, and he would finish 2nd in 2wd and 1st place in mod wheeler! He was sandwiched on each side by fellow JC drivers Alex and Owen Vanderbeek in the Mod 4wd class to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

Team driver Dalton Conradt raced in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and he would grab the TQ and win in both of them! He was joined on the 2wd podium by fellow JC driver David Peavler (2nd) and Conner Herrick (3rd) to complete another JConcepts podium sweep! Conner would also finish 3rd in 13.5 4wd Buggy, while David locked up 3rd place in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy!

Kicking it down to Kansas we visit Checkered Flag R/C Raceway in Bonner Springs. This past weekend was their Kansas Dirt Oval Championship, and team driver Shane Alberico would grab the TQ and W in the 13.5 Sprint Car class!

Shooting down to Texas we head to Oatesified Off-Road RC Raceway in San Antonio. This past weekend they hosted the MSM Showdown that saw 214 entries! Let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Brian Henn. He reported that he would finish the event with a 3rd place finish in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and a 2nd place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

His tire teammate Todd Geary secured 5th place in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Team driver Gabe Boudreau would lock up 5th place in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

JConcepts driver Joel Rodriguez reported that he captured 6th place in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy and a 3rd place finish in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy! Joining him on the e buggy podium to complete the JConcepts sweep were his teammates Frosty St. Clair (2nd) and Tyler Hooks (1st)! Frosty would also finish 4th overall in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class too!

Our next stop in the state is at Amarillo Raceway Park in the city of Amarillo. They recently held their 4th Anniversary trophy event, and team driver Tony Hinojosa would take the TQ and win in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Logan Toia. Recently he and his fellow JConcepts teammate Kasey Dawson competed at the 2025 Waikato Championships in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Logan would grab the double TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, while Kasey would finish on the podium in both classes too with a 3rd place finish in 2wd and 2nd overall in 4wd!
