In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Virginia team driver, Tyler Pittman!
1. Ok let’s start with how you got first involved in RC. Did you pick it up from someone, stumbled across a local track, etc.?
I got into RC racing because of my Dad. I have been watching racing with him since I was born. I enjoy watching, playing and racing RC monster trucks.
2. Dirt Oval has really grown in popularity over the past few years. In your opinion what is the main cause of this increase of left turn drivers?
I think Dirt Oval has grown in popularity because the cars are fast and it challenges you. More people are posting about it which makes people interested. I hope it is something more people continue to like.
3. What classes do you enjoy to compete in today? Is there another class you would like to see comeback or increase in popularity so you could compete in it as well?
In Dirt Oval racing I compete in Mudboss, Late Model, Street Stock, Losi Sprint, 21.5 Sprint and Traxxas Modified. I enjoy racing my Mudboss the most because it is fun and aggressive racing. I would like to see more street stock classes racing.
4. Which JConcepts product is your favorite to date, and why?
For any RC racing my favorite JConcepts product is their Pit Mat. It’s durable and withstands all the dirt from my cars. For my Sprint car I run the Swiper tires and they allow for a lot of grip when I need it on the track.
5. What other hobbies are you into besides RC cars?
Outside of racing RC cars I enjoy drawing/art, football and spending time with my family.
