Race Team Update – August 2025 Week #5

The JConcepts race team continues to do work over the long holiday weekend as they stuff podiums around the nation. Read about our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out west in sunny California. The team was competing at different events so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Chris Raceles. This past Saturday he went to SDRC Raceway in San Diego to race in Round 3 of their Endless Summer Series. He competed in the 40+ Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would secure the TQ and W in both!

Our next update in the state is from JC driver Don Vinkemulder. He recently went to The Dirt in the city of Perris and finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Now we head north and stop in at NORA (Northwest Oval/Off-Road RC Association) Skagit River Raceway in Burlington, WA. This past weekend they held their Summer Showdown\Erik Zimmerman Memorial Race, and team driver Shane Wheeler registered for three dirt oval classes.

When the dust had settled he would finish with a DNF in Wingless Sprint, 5th place in Late Model, plus the TQ and a 3rd place finish in 410 Sprint!

Crossing the state line we now visit HRCR (Hayden Radio Control Raceway) in Hayden, ID. This past weekend they held the WERC finals that saw 204 entries! Team driver Brenden Bartlett was in attendance for this race and he would finish 6th in the Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, plus a 2nd place finish in the spec tire 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Heading east we now visit Dakota RC in Jamestown, ND for another round of their Summer Series. Team driver Marco Moreno competed in three classes, and when the racing was over he would finish 7th in 1/8 Electric Buggy, 5th in 1/8 Electric Truggy, plus the TQ and win in the Open 1/10 Electric class!

His dad and fellow JC pilot Jerm Jones locked up 2nd place in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class!

Heading over the Missouri river we now make our way to Leighton, IA where Leighton Speedway is located at. Team driver David Fast was putting down some fast laps last Saturday night, and he would finish 4th in both the 410 Sprint and Late Model classes!

On to Ohio we now visit Rock Creek RC Complex in the town of Rock Creek. Team driver Wade Piggott recently competed there and he would finish 2nd in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, plus he netted the W in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Continuing east we stop in at Rhythm RC Raceway in Hammonton, NJ. Team driver Enzo Albertoni recently competed there, and he would take home the win in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Next, we head down to North Carolina to get a few updates from the team. Starting with team driver Jason Westfall this past weekend he went to Dantona RC Raceway in Rocky Point to compete in Round 5 of the SHRL (SNAP HARD Racing League).

He signed up for four classes and came home with great results!

  • Mod 2wd Buggy – 2nd place
  • Mod 4wd Buggy – 2nd place
  • Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy – 2nd place
  • Mod Stadium Truck – 3rd place

He also earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week too for competing in the most classes at one RC event!

Our final report comes to us courtesy of team driver Derrick Harris. This past weekend he traveled to two events, starting first with Red Brush RC in Mount Airy. When the first event finished he would finish 6th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and 2nd place in 1/8 Electric Truggy! His next stop was Turn and Burn Hobby & Raceway in Winston-Salem the next day. At this event he would lock up 5th place in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and another 2nd place in 1/8 Electric Truggy!
