Race Team Update – September 2025 Week #3

The JConcepts race team continues their winning ways for the month of September. Read about our global success in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out west at Metz R/C Raceway in Blackfoot, ID. This facility held the Idaho State Championship that brought in over 125 entries!

Team driver Shane Wheeler was ready to do work at this event as he competed in five classes with great results!

  • Open Sprint – TQ and 1st place
  • 10.5 Midwest Mod – TQ and 1st place
  • Midget Sprint – TQ and 1st place
  • SC Mod – TQ and 1st place
  • Open Late Model – 2nd place

He also earns out coveted ‘ironman’ award this week too for competing in the most classes at a single RC event!

Our next update is from team driver David Peavler. He and his son Jayme traveled to Traction City RC in Webster City, IA to compete in the final round of their points series. David would net the TQ and win in the Stadium Truck and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy classes while his son took the TQ in the Intermediate 17.5 2wd Buggy class then raced on to take the win in this class, plus he picked up another W in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Crossing over the Mississippi River we now make our way to Rick’s Hobby Farm in New Richmond, WI. This past weekend was the final round of the MNRC (Minnesota Off-Road Racing Series), and team driver Tyler Aubart let us know that he would finish 2nd in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes which included a TQ in e buggy!

When the season points were tallied up he would finish 2nd for the season in nitro buggy, plus 1st place in e buggy!

Staying in the state we now head to The Yard RC Raceway in the town of Luxemburg.

They also held their final summer series event of the year, and team driver Ryan Derenne was on point that day as he finished 3rd in both the Mod Stadium Truck and 1/8 Electric Truggy classes!

Also competing for the team was JC driver Richie Peters in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class where he grabbed the TQ and win!

Leaping Lake Michigan we splash down at MMRC (Mid-Michigan RC Raceway) in city of Alma. Team driver Jeff Todd competed there last Saturday for opening round of the Michigan Carpet Championship.

He competed in the 13.5 Short Course Truck class and after the AA Mains were ran he would finish in 3rd place!

Heading south now we visit TARCAR in Toledo, OH. This track held the finals for the Glass City Series, and team driver Chuck Berg went out in style with the TQ and W in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Making our way east we now visit LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, PA. Last weekend they held their The Cancer Race which brought out 439 entries, plus they raised $35,620 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

Team driver Gloop Mahey was in attendance for this event, and he would finish in the lower main for the 1/8 Electric Truggy class, plus the TQ and 2nd place in Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Continuing east we now visit RC Madness in Enfield, CT. This past weekend they held their Supercross trophy race and team driver Larry Caputo Jr. would finish 3rd in 1/8 Electric Truggy, plus the TQ and W in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Heading down the coastline we now make our way to PLRC (Power Line R/C) in Fredericksburg, VA. This past weekend they put on their Fall Haul trophy event, and team driver Brian Miskolczi was hauling around the track as he took the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

His son Layton also threw down fast laps at this event and he would finish 4th in e buggy plus a 2nd place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Next, let’s head to North Carolina to get a few updates from the team competing at different tracks. Our first report is from JC pilot Josh Parrish. This past weekend he attended Round 1 of the Winter Super 7 Series that took place World of R/C in Lucama, and he got off to a great start as he brought home the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Our next update in the state is from JConcepts driver Derrick Harris. This past weekend he went to Turn and Burn Hobby & Raceway in Winston-Salem to compete in a cash event, and he would finish 10th in 1/8 Electric Buggy along with a 3rd place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy that also netted him some cold hard cash!

Heading further south we now catch up with team driver Jason Westfall. This past weekend he visited Sweetwater Raceway in Powder Springs, GA to register for their 11th Annual Sweetwater Slam.

He would then go on to put some finisher moves on the competition as he finished 2nd in both Stadium Truck and Mod 2wd Buggy plus 1st overall in Mod 4wd Buggy!

Heading back to the west we now visit ELDO RC in El Dorado, AR. This past weekend they held their Oil Field trophy race and team driver William Ables would come away with the TQ and W in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Joining him on the podium in 3rd place was fellow JC driver Kirk Crisalli!

Shooting over to Texas we now visit Thornhill Racing Circuit in the city of Hutto. This past weekend they held their 2025 Texas Two Step trophy race, and team driver Gabe Boudreau would lock up 5th place in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with JC driver Darren Johnston. Recently he competed at the Celebration of Motorsport Festival in Perth, Western Australia.

After all the racing was in the books he would take home the win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Heading to Gisborne, New Zealand we get our next update from team driver Kasey Dawson. He recently competed at Gizzy RC Raceway for their masters of dirt event, and he would finish with a DNF in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, but he better luck in his other two classes and he took the TQ and win in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 1/8 Nitro Truggy!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Jake Dell. This past weekend was the end of the UK Nitroxcross Series, and after the series pointed were tallied up he would finish 5th overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!
