Friday5 With Team Driver Zachary Schmidt

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Florida team driver, Zachary Schmidt!

1. Ok let’s start with how you got first involved in RC. Did you pick it up from someone, stumbled across a local track, etc.?

My dad raced RC cars for years and I picked it up from him. My first ever RC event was Beachline Raceway in Cocoa, FL.

2. This year you joined JConcepts as a new team driver. What are some of your goals for this year and what do you think you can bring or add to the existing team?

My goal for this year is to go to INS15 at Hoosier RC Hobbyplex and the Florida Carpet Championships. Also, to help bring to the team is to help other drivers out and bring new upcoming drivers become fast and better drivers and learn about their cars.

3. Name a RC class that you would like to see increase in popularity and why?

I would like to see Stadium Truck increase because it’s a fun class and with technical courses to drive on.

4. JConcepts is well known for its tires and bodies, but in your opinion what tool or accessory is a must have on race day that other drivers might overlook?

I race at Newred Hobbies and the best tire to use there is the Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, and a best tool to use there is the new Floating Ride-Height & Droop Gauge.

5. Besides RC racing, what other activities do you enjoy?

I like to spend time with family and to go to the beach.
