Race Team Update – October 2025 Week #2

Two weeks of October racing are now in the books and the JConcepts race team continues to scare off the competition on tracks around the nation! Read where we were winning at this past week in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out west in sunny California. There were several RC events taking place in the state so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Robert Sorjonen. This past weekend he went to Robinson RC Raceway in Potrero to compete in the California State Championships, and when the dust had settled he would take the TQ and W in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Now we head to The Racers Den in Sacramento for our next report. JC driver Rob Moots recently competed in their Halloween Thriller carpet trophy race, and would finish 2nd in 40+ Mod 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy along with the TQ and win the in 13.5 Stadium Truck class!

Our next stop is at Hot Rod Hobbies in Santa Clarita. This track hosted Round 6 of the JBRL series, and JConcepts driver Gary Slater would secure 4th place in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Our final report in the state is from team driver Jeremy Bunting. This past weekend he competed in the final round of the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks Points Series that was held at Rescue RC Raceway in the city of Rescue.

In the 2.6 Monster Truck class his “Carnage” truck qualified second overall, and it made the semi finals while his “Bad Company” truck won freestyle! For the season both trucks finished on the podium in 2nd and 3rd place too! In the Challenger Class his “Titan” replica ride won the racing bracket, and it also took the championship for the season! His “Bad Company” truck finished in second overall for the season in the class as well! In the Retro class his “Carnage” monster truck won the racing bracket on the finals, plus it won the championship for the points series too!

Next, we make our way to Metz R/C Raceway in Blackfoot, ID and catch up with JC pilot Shane Wheeler.

This past weekend he signed up for four different classes at their Halloween Havoc trophy event and came home with some great results!

  • Outlaw Sprint = TQ and 1st place
  • Midwest Mod = 1st place
  • SC Mod = 2nd place
  • Mod Late Model = 2nd place

Our next visit is to the state of Oklahoma to check on the success of the team competing at a few RC events. We first visit Shaws Rc Track in the town of Ardmore. This track hosted the Truck Nationals this past weekend, and team driver Brian Rohde competed in two classes.

In the 1/8 open Nitro Buggy class he would unfortunately finish the day with a DNF, but he has better luck in 1/8 Nitro Truggy as he finished 2nd overall!

Also throwing down laps for the team at this race was JC driver Colton Jones, and he would lock up 3rd place in the Sportsman 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Our next tour stop in the state is at Battle Ground RC Speedway in Muskogee. This track hosted their 1st Annual Big Car Shootout last weekend, and team driver Brian Stanton got us off to a great start by taking the win in the 13.5 Sprint class!

Moving to Missouri we now visit a new track called Ship Rc in the town of Billings. Last weekend was their opening event, and team driver Braxten Culley already set the pace for other drivers as he grabbed the TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Heading up I-35 we now visit Leighton Speedway in Leighton, IA for this quick update from team driver David Fast. He was in town to compete in their double header events, and for the Late Model Nationals he would finish 4th in the Late Model class plus a 3rd place finish in 410 Sprint! Then for the 2nd event called the Halloween Havoc he had some bad luck as some ghosts decided to end his run in the A Mains for the same two classes with the double DNF. However, despite this he still had a great time and his cars were running fast that day!

Continuing north on I-35 we now visit Dollar Hobbyz in Woodbury, MN. This past weekend was Round 2 of their points series, and team driver Austin Jacobson would lock up 5th place in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Crossing the state line we now visit Trackside Hobbies & Raceway in Brookfield, WI. This past Saturday night was Round 1 of their SNF (Saturday Night Fever) series, and JConcepts driver Tyler Aubart would net the 7th place spot in both the 13.5 4wd and Mod 2wd Buggy classes!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Larry’s Performance R/C in Shelby Township, MI. This past weekend they hosted the 2nd round of the Michigan Carpet Championships that saw nearly 100 entries! After the round was over team driver Greg Carrico would finish 2nd in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy and 1st place in Mod 2wd Buggy! His tire teammate Evan Cook would double-down with two TQs and wins in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! And his son, and fellow JC driver, Brady would lock up 3rd place in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 2nd overall in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Onward to Ohio we now get several reports from the team competing at different RC events. Starting with team driver Chuck Berg he attended the Tri State Series finals at TARCAR in Toledo, and he would grab the TQ and W in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Moving to the city of Strasburg where Magic Hobbies is located we get our next report from team driver Brandon Marsh. This track hosted Round 1 of the Midwest Carpet Off-Road Series which saw 117 entries, and he would come away with the double TQ and win in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

The next RC event in the state took place in the city of Montpelier. This past weekend was the NRCTPA (National Radio Control Truck Pulling Association) World Finals, so let’s see how the team performed starting with JC driver Jonathan Sohl. He reported that for the Saturday Night Retro Shootout portion of the event he would finish 3rd in Retro 1 and 2nd in Retro 2! On Sunday he would compete in Retro 2 again where he finished 2nd overall!

Also competing there for the team was team driver JJ Eaton. Not only was he competing in several racing classes, but he also picked up some hardware in the Concourse division too!

  • 3rd place in UltraMod

Angling our way down to Alabama we now catch up with team driver Danny Smith. Over the weekend he hit up Round 7 of the Pro Rock RC Crawlers that took place at Moss Rock outside of the town of Hoover where he finished 2nd overall after the points were tallied up!

Heading to the coastline we meet up with team driver Derrick Harris. This past weekend he visited Zoo City Raceway Park in Asheboro, NC to register for their Rebuild trophy race that saw nearly 100 entries! He competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes, and he ended the day with a 10th place finish in e buggy along with a 3rd place finish in e truggy!

Continuing to the Northeast we now get our next report from team driver Tyler Pittman. He recently attended the final Underdog Oval RC race held at WNRC Speedway in Felton, DE, and he would finish just shy of the A Main in the 13.5 Sprint class, and he also picked up the TQ and W in the Under 15 division!

When the season points were added up he would also finish 1st overall in the Under 15 class too!

Our final visit this week is at DPRC (Dynamic Performance RC) Raceway in Lyndonville, VT. This past weekend they hosted the New England Dirt Nationals which saw 226 entries! Let’s see how the team performed starting with JConcepts driver Matt Perault.

He reported that he just missed the transfer spot to the A Main in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class, but he had better luck in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class as he took the TQ and win!

His tire teammate Daniel Sedler was also at this race and he finished 3rd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Vin Manchanda. He also competed at this event in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class where he finished 6th overall!
