Race Team Update – November 2025 Weeks #4 & #5

Even with the holiday break the JConcepts race team continues to gobble up the competition on tracks around the globe! Read about our winning ways in this new installment of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out west at The Dirt in Perris, CA. They recently held their 2nd annual Turkey Race at their dirt oval track, and team driver Gary Slater would take home 1st place in the 13.5 Sprint class!

Also competing at this event was JC driver Michael Letcher. He competed in the Traxxas Modified class and would lock up 2nd place!

Last weekend another event took place at The Dirt but this time on their off-road track. Last Saturday was their 5th annual Turkey trophy race, and JC pilot Don Vinkemulder would just miss the A Main in the Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy class , but he was able to finish in 6th place in Open 1/8 Nitro Truggy!

Next, we shoot over to Texas and stop in at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in the city of Porter. Recently they held their Toys For Tots trophy race, and team driver Brian Henn competed in two classes. He would finish 7th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy along with the TQ and W in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Heading north we now visit CBRC Raceway in Roff, OK for our next update. Last weekend they held their The Turkey Shootout trophy event, and team driver Kevin Lenderman was in attendance. He competed in two classes and would finish 5th in 13.5 Sprint, plus grabbed the win in the 10.5 Midwest Mod class!

Also competing at this event was JConcepts driver Noel Cerda. He signed up for the Mod Late Model class and would lock up the final podium spot! Setting the TQ and finishing 2nd on the podium was his tire teammate Robert Chapman!

Now we make our way to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO. This past Saturday was another round of their Saturday Winter Series, and team driver Orlando Martinez raced in two classes. In the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class he would grab the TQ but had some bad luck in the A Main and finished with a DNF. He also raced in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and luck was on his side as he qualified 5th for the A Main then drove cleanly to take 1st overall!

Next, we make a diagonal to the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. Two weeks ago was the 2nd round of their Dirt Oval Winter Series. Team driver David Fast signed up for two classes and would finish the round with a 5th place finish in Late Model and 3rd overall in the 410 Sprint class!

Now we head up I-29 and make our way to Bad Fast Hobbies in Sioux City, IA. Two weeks ago they held their 7th annual Turkey Shootout in memory of local driver Dave Lorius. Let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Jake Wiggs. He competed in four classes at this event and took home the win in three of them!

  • Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy – TQ and 1st
  • 13.5 Stadium Truck – TQ and 1st
  • Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy – 1st
  • Mod 2wd Buggy – 3rd

Those are some great results and he also earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week for competing in the most classes at a single RC race!

Also competing at this race was his tire teammate David Peavler. He raced in three classes and would finish 7th in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy, 2nd in Expert 17.5 Buggy and he also took the TQ and W in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class! Joining him on the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy podium were fellow team drivers Jake (1st) and Jacob Sweisberger (TQ and 4th)!

Moving north we now visit The Toy Box R/C Track in New Richmond, WI. Last Wednesday was their trophy event and it was a clean sweep for the JC team in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Team driver Thor Ott would finish 1st and joining him on the podium were team drivers Kyle Holmberg (2nd) and Tony Sletten (3rd)!

Staying in the state we now head to Brookfield where Trackside Hobbies & Raceway is located at. They recently held their 2025 Toy’s for Tots race and team driver Tyler Aubart reported that he would finish 6th in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 5th in Mod 2wd Buggy and 1st place in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Heading east we now visit the state of Michigan for a few updates from the team competing at different events the past two weeks. Starting at RC ONE Racing in Macomb Township, team driver Kris Norlock recently competed in their Great Lakes Championship event where he finished 2nd in Mod 2wd Buggy along with a TQ and W in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Out next stop in the state is at Sandpit RC in the city of Jonesville.

Last weekend they held their Turkey Day trophy race, and team driver Kyle King let us know that he finished 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy, and also grabbed a 2nd place finish in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Also competing for the team at this race was JC driver Mike Legue. He signed up for the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and would finish the event with a TQ in both, plus a 2nd place finish in e buggy and 1st overall in the nitro class!

Two weeks ago this same track held the 2nd Round of their electric series. Team driver Michael Rinke was at this round and he would grab the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Heading east even more we make our way now to The Factory RC Raceway in York, PA. They recently held Round 2 of their dirt oval points series, and team driver Ethan Mackanick grabbed the TQ and win in the Mod Sprint class! Joining him on the podium in 3rd place was fellow JC driver Bryan Kata!

Sending it south now we make our way to Sweetwater Raceway in Powder Springs, GA.

Last Saturday they held their 11th annual Sweetwater Shootout, and team driver Jason Westfall was ready to roll as he netted two wins plus another podium spot in the three classes he competed in!

  • Mod 4wd Buggy – TQ and 1st
  • Mod Stadium Truck – 1st
  • Mod 2wd Buggy – 2nd

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Ben Panic. Last weekend he attended the NSW State Titles event, and he would make the finals and finish 10th overall in the 45 minute 1/8 Nitro Buggy A Main!
