Two weeks into the new year and the JConcepts race team continues to grab spots on the podium around the nation. Read about our winning ways in this new installment of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out east at World of R/C Parts & Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC. This past weekend they held their 2026 Vintage Off-Road Worlds that saw 262 entries! We had many drivers in attendance so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Dave McEwen. He reported that he signed up for four classes at this race and he put in some great results!
- Pre-94 13.5 4wd Buggy = 2nd place
- Pre-97 17.5 Stadium Truck = 2nd place
- Pre-97 17.5 2wd Buggy = 3rd place
- Pre-90 Heritage buggy = TQ and 4th place
JC driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. was also at this race, and he would end the event with a TQ and 4th place finish in Pre-97 17.5 Stadium Truck along with the TQ and win in Pre-94 13.5 4wd Buggy!
Also competing at this race was JConcepts driver Richard Medlin. He competed in three different classes and would finish in the lower mains for Pre-97 17.5 2wd Buggy, 11th overall in Pre-97 17.5 Stadium Truck, plus the TQ and 3rd place in Post-97 Rear Motor Stadium Truck!
Team driver Jose Zayas was also throwing down laps at this event, and he would finish the event with a 5th place finish in 96-05 10.5 4wd Buggy, 3rd place in Pre-97 17.5 Stadium Truck, and 2nd overall in the Pre-97 17.5 2wd Buggy class!
JC pilot Bryson Furnish signed up for a plethora of classes at this event and he would finish the race with some solid results:
- 4wd Classic Plastic = TQ and 1st place
- Tamiya Wheelie = 2nd place
- 96-05 10.5 4wd Buggy = 2nd place
- Pre-97 17.5 2wd Buggy = 4th place
- Pre-97 17.5 Stadium Truck = 9th place
- Post-97 Rear Motor Buggy = DNF
That is a lot of racing so he also earns our coveted ‘ironman‘ award this week for competing in the most classes at a single RC event too!

Heading up the northeast we now visit R/C Madness in Enfield, CT. This past weekend they held their 2026 January Jam, and team driver Jay Bless let us know that he would finish 4th in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes along with a 2nd place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy! Taking the TQ and 1st place in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class was his tire teammate Antonio Caputo!
Antonio would also grab another TQ and W in the Stadium Truck class along with a 2nd place finish in 13.5 4wd Buggy!
Also competing at this race was team driver Jonathan Sohl. He registered for two classes, and when the racing was in the books he would just miss the bump spot in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class, while over in the Rear Motor class he would take home the win!

Next, we head over to Michigan for our next update. Team driver Ilan Sanderson recently went to RC One in the city of Macomb to get in some club racing, and he would end the night with the double win in the Mod 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Now we make a diagonal down to Altitude RC in Beckley, WV. Team driver Casey Bias recently visited this facility for some racing, and when the race night was complete he would secure the double TQ and win in the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Bouncing over to the Hoosier state we get our next update from JC driver Wyatt Gaskins. Last weekend he went to the city of Muncie where MPRC (Muncie Performance RC Raceway) is located to compete in Round 1 of their Winter points series. He is off to a great start for this series as he would take the TQ and W in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!

This past weekend was Round 2 of their Winter Points Series, and team driver Braden Bruce would down down in this round with two TQs and wins in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! Joining him on the 17.5 2wd Buggy podium to complete the JConcepts sweep were fellow JC teammates Calvin Bruce and Peyton Jaynes!

Heading north we now visit Wolfram RC in Des Moines, IA. This past Saturday was their Icebreaker trophy race, and team driver David Peavler would finish 2nd in Mod 2wd Buggy along with the TQ and win in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class! His son Jayme also got in on the winning action as he grabbed the TQ and 1st place in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Now we head to the the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE for our final reports this week. This past weekend was Round 3 of their Dirt Oval Winter series, and team driver Alex Sturgeon took the win in the 360 Sprint Class!
Also competing in this most recent round was team driver David Fast. He competed in two classes and would finish 2nd in 410 Sprint along with the TQ and 1st place in Late Model!
