The JConcepts race team keeps their March momentum moving forward with another solid weekend of racing which you can read about in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report in Sacramento, CA which is home to LSR Speedway. They recently held their March Mania trophy race so let’s see how the team finished starting with JC driver Lucas Wedsted. He competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class for the first time at a major event and it was a good way to start as he took the overall win! He used Gold compound Dirt Webs up front and Silver compound Ellipses in the rear along with a F2 body.
Teammate Joseph Levin was also competing at this event in three classes and took home two wins!
- 13.5 Stadium Truck – TQ and 1st place using Silver compound Ellipses, Mono wheels and a F2 body
- Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy – 1st place using Silver compound Dirt Webs up front and Silver compound Ellipses in the rear, Mono wheels, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
- Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy – TQ and 2nd place using Silver compound Ellipses on all four corners, Mono wheels, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
JConcepts driver Rob Moots was also in attendance and reported that he took the win in the 40+ Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class! He used Silver compound Ellipses and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
Staying in Cali we now move to SDRC Raceway in San Diego for their 5th and final round of the Supercross Series. Starting with team driver Austin Riley he finished 3rd for the final round in Intermediate 17.5 2wd Buggy and 5th overall in the season points! In the Sportsman 13.5 4wd Buggy class he finished 4th for the day and 6th overall for the entire series! His buggies used Mono wheels, sanded down Silver compound Ellipses and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
His dad Rick also wrapped up the series in the 21.5 2wd Buggy class and after all the points were tallied he finished 3rd overall! He used the same equipment package as Austin.
Their teammate Mike Sorchy competed in the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class and would finish 3rd overall for the series! And he also raced in the Open 2wd Buggy class and would end up 2nd overall for the year! For the finals he used sanded down Silver compound Ellipses.
Now let’s fly east into Porter, TX to check out the racing action at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway. They recently hosted Round 4 of HARC and our driver Brian Henn reports that he competed in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and would walk away with the W in both! For the mains he opted to use our Green compound Reflex tires for truggy and Green compound Detox tires for buggy.
Our next stop is in Florida to get this report from team driver Willie Scott. He was in the city of Crestview where B&T RC Raceway is located to attend their Battle At The Beach event which saw nearly 250 entries! He competed in the Mod 4wd Buggy and 17.5 Stadium Truck classes. He would finish 3rd overall in Mod wheeler and 7th in 17.5 Stadium Truck! His truck used Green compound Sprinters in the Front and Double Dees in the rear and topped off with a Finnisher body. His buggy used Green compound Sprinters in the front and rear.
Our next stop in the state is at SS Hobbies & Raceway in Tampa to get an update from the team competing at Race 6 of the Snap Hard Race League. Team driver Kyle Paquette reports that he finished 3rd in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while running Silver compound Ellipses, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing! Joining him on the podium to complete the JConcepts sweep were teammates Lee Setser in 2nd and Julien Oliveras in 1st!
Moving up the coast we settle in at Myrtle Beach, SC to get an update from the team competing at the Spring Sting trophy race hosted by Badlands RC Supercross. Starting with JC driver Robert Meyer Jr. he reports that he took the TQ and win in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class and 4th overall in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class!
Teammate Kiarra Hold was also racing at this event and reports that she took 3rd overall in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class while performing on Green compound Triple Dees and a Finnisher body!
JC driver Chris Pace also checks in to report that he took the TQ and win in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class plus finished 3rd overall in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! For qualifying he used R2 compound Reflex tires but switched over to Green compound Teazers for the longer mains.
Continuing along the east coast we get this next update from JConcepts driver Ken Rand Jr. He recently raced at Round 1 of the Cash series that was held at City View Raceway in Concord, VA and he took the win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! He used our Aqua compound Ellipses mounted to Bullet wheels.
Now we fly back west to New Franken, WI where Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway is located. They recently held their 3rd Annual Smack Talk Showdown race and we check in with the team starting with team driver Ryan Derenne. He compete in three different classes for this event and finished in 3rd place in the 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy class!
- 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy – 3rd place using Silver compound Ellipses ground to slicks along with a P2 body
- Mod Stadium Truck – 4th place using Silver compound Ellipses ground to slicks along with a Finnisher body
- 13.5 4wd Buiggy – 17th place using Silver compound Ellipses ground to slicks along with a S2 body
Also racing at this event was teammate Richie Peters. He reports he took 3rd place in Mod 2wd Buggy and the TQ and win in 17.5 2wd Buggy! He used F2 bodies, Silver compound Ellipses and Dirt Webs ground to slicks along with Mono wheels on both bugs.
Now we head south to J.B. Scale Graphics Raceway in Waterloo, IL who hosted the first summer edition of the Trigger King RC Monster Truck Series. Team driver Jeremy Mark reports that his replica Taurus 3 sport modified truck finished 2nd for the day after making the semi-finals in racing bracket 1 and the finals in racing bracket 2! It used the following JConcepts gear:

Heading west into Iowa we stop in at IORC located in Fort Dodge. They recently held their inaugural March Mayhem trophy race and let’s see how the team performed starting with JC driver Ethan Delair.
He competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and finished 3rd in Mod 2wd and took the W in Mod 4wd! His winning wheeler used a F2 body, Nessi and Swaggers tires and an Aero S-Type 7″ Wing. His 2wd ride was equipped with a F2 body, Twin Pins and Swaggers tires and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
His JConcepts teammate Brandon Kearney competed in the same classes as well along with Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy. After the mains were ran he finished with a TQ, two podium finishes and a win!

- Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy – 4th place
All of his cars were using Swaggers, Twin Pins, lightweight F2 bodies, Mono wheels, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wings and B6.2 Front Wings.
Now let’s get an update from our overseas team starting with team driver Aaron Dexter. This past weekend he competed at the King of Whiteman race in Perth, Western Australia and took the TQ and win in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Nitro Buggy classes! He used R2 and O2 compound Stalkers, S1 bodies and F2I wings.
Also racing at this event was JC mate Brayden Johnston in the same classes. He finished 3rd overall in E Buggy running on Stalkers in the Blue and Red compounds that weekend! And in the nitro main he battled back from a rough start to lock up the final podium spot too! For that car he used O2 compound Blockers and both cars also used S1 bodies and F2I wings.
JC driver Ben Panic reports that he did some racing over the weekend in Canberra, Australia. After some rain delays, racing resumed and he was able to make the finals in put in a solid 4th place finish using a S15 body!
Our final report this week comes from JConcepts driver Jordan Isergin. He competed at the Keilor Pro-Am Invitational in Keilor, Australia where a Pro driver teamed up with an amateur driver. He teamed up with Shelby Bloss and as a team they competed in both the 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes over 10 rounds that used a Reedy Race racing format. After the points were calculated they finished 3rd overall using Green compound Ellipses, F2 bodies and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings!
