Race Team Update – April 2024 Week #4

The JConcepts race team finishes the month of April with more wins on tracks around the world! Read about our winning ways in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out in sunny California in the town of Rescue. The opening round of the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks Points Series took place at Rescue RC Raceway, and team driver Jeremy Bunting took the TQ and 2nd place in the Retro class with his replica Shotgun truck!

In the Challenger Spec class he took the win with his Titan mini monster truck too!

Our next stop is in Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend they held their annual spring trophy event that brought in 170 entries! We had many drivers at this race so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Brandon Kearney.

He competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and wrapped up the event with a 9th place finish in Mod 4wd and 6th overall in Mod 2wd!

JC driver Mason Herrick competed in three classes at this race, and he finished 3rd in Mod 4wd Buggy, 2nd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy and 1st place in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

JConcepts driver Andrew Thomas raced in the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and when the weekend was over he would finish 3rd in wheeler and 2nd place in the 2wd class!

Team driver Jake Wiggs threw down fast laps on the dirt this past weekend and finished 6th overall in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

JC pilot Dalton Conradt finished 7th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy, 5th in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy and also grabbed the TQ and W in 13.5 Short Course Truck!

JConcepts driver David Peavler also competed in three classes and finished 10th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy, 5th in 13.5 Stadium Truck and 4th place in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy!

Team driver TJ Williams finished 8th in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy, 5th in Expert 173.5 2wd Buggy and 2nd overall in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

JC driver Daniel Bender finished 8th in Expert 173.5 2wd Buggy and 6th place in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy!

JConcepts driver Owen Vanderbeek wrapped up this event with a 4th place finish in Mod 4wd Buggy along with a 3rd place finish in Mod 2wd Buggy!

Owen’s older brother Alex Vanderbeek also competed in those same two mod classes and he would grab the top qualifying position in both! After the AAA mains were all ran he would finish 2nd in mod wheeler and 1st overall in Mod 2wd!  Mason and Owen joined him on the podium to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!

In the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class it was another podium sweep for the JConcepts team as team driver, and Plex race director, Alex Sturgeon took the TQ and win! Fellow JC drivers Mack Vanderbeek and Chad Karstens joined him on the podium to complete the sweep!

Shooting down to Texas let’s stop in at the city of Porter where Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway is located. This past weekend they ran Round 3 of their dirt oval series, and team driver Brian Germany took the TQ and win in the 10.5 Sprint class!

His son Seth also raced in this most recent round and he took the win in the Midwest Modified class!

Getting back on the road we now head to GS Hobby in Barling, AR for our next report. This past weekend they held their annual Judge trophy race that brought in 127 entries! Team driver Rhett McNair was in attendance and after the AAA Mains were ran he would finish 2nd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy! Joining him on the podium in 1st place was fellow JC driver Braxten Culley!

JC driver Matthew Pyle was also at this race and he finished 4th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy along with a 3rd place finish in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy!

JConcepts driver Mike Stoll also competed in these same two classes, and he would finish 6th overall in both of them!

Kicking it over to Kentucky we make our way to the RC Arena located in Middlesboro. There we find team driver Wade Piggott who traveled to this arena to compete in the Tri State Championship. He competed in their Pro 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes along with 1/8 Electric Truggy. When the dust had settled he would TQ all three classes, and finish 2nd in e buggy, plus took the wins in the nitro buggy and e truggy classes!

Heading to the coastline we make our way to North Carolina to get a few updates from the team competing at various tracks. Starting with team driver Josh Parrish he let us know that he took the TQ and win in Mod 4wd Buggy for Round 3 of the MidWeek Mayhem Series at Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama!

Staying in the state we now roll over to Turn and Burn Hobby & Raceway in Winston-Salem for our next report. Team driver Marlowe Bright competed in their opening day trophy race, and he would finish 3rd in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus the W in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

His son Carter finished 3rd overall in the Sportsman 1/8 Nitro Buggy class too!

Crossing over into Virginia we make our way to the city of Winchester where Adrenaline RC Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their final points series of the season, and team driver Javon Mallory finished 2nd overall that day in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy along with the series points too!

Fellow team driver Garrett Hawbaker was also at this final round and he finished 1st in points for both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Cutting the corner we now stop in at RC Madness in Enfield, CT to see how the team performed at their recent turf season opener.

Starting with team driver Matthew Sousa he reports that took the double TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

His tire teammate Eric Bresnahan finished 10th overall in 17.5 2wd Buggy, plus he grabbed the TQ and win in the Mod Stadium Truck class!

Sending it back west to “The Buckeye State” let’s see how the team finished up at the recent season opener at TARCAR in the city of Toledo. Starting with team driver Brandon Marsh he reports that he finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

His tire teammate Chuck Berg finished 3rd overall in both the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Ray Munday. He let us know that this past weekend he attended Round 1 of the 2024 Polistena Cup at Keilor, Australia. There were 120 entries competing in this two day event, and when the race came to an end he would finish 3rd in Mod 2wd Buggy and 2nd place in Mod Stadium Truck! His son Lachlan took the trifecta by winning in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes along with Mod Stadium Truck! Their tire teammate Jordan Isergin also made the podium in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes by finishing 2nd in both!
