Race Team Update – November 2024 Week #3

Another week of racing is in the books for the JConcepts race team as they continue to stand on top of the podium around the globe. Read about our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in the Pacific Northwest at Moses Lake, WA. Round 1 of the Northwest Rage Tour Series took place there which brought out 213 entries! Putting down laps for the team was JC driver Evan Roeth. He signed up for four classes and would make the podium for all of them plus grab three TQs and two wins!

  • Mod 4wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • Mini Truggy = TQ and 1st place
  • 1/8 Electric Truggy = 3rd place
  • 1/8 Electric Buggy = TQ and 4th place

Moving south we stop in at SDRC Raceway in sunny San Diego, CA for our next update. The 6th and final round of the 2024 Endless Summer Series was held there over the weekend, and for the finals team driver Chris Raceles would finish 7th overall in the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class along with a 2nd place finish in 40+ 2wd Buggy! After the racing was complete and the points were tallied up he would also take the overall title in the 40+ 2wd Buggy class too!

Heading over to Arizona we stop in at the city of Phoenix where Adobe Mountain R/C Speedway is located.

This past weekend they hosted the 6th round of the Arizona Championship Series, and team driver Adam Peters would finish 2nd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, plus grab the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Now we fly over the Rocky Mountains and touch down in Aurora, CO where MHOR RC Raceway is located at. This past weekend they held their 38th annual Pizza Feast trophy race, and team driver Sam Ford was able to slice up the competition as he finished 3rd in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 2nd place in both the Mod 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck classes, plus the TQ and W in the 13.5 Short Course Truck class!

Next, we bounce over the Hoosier state for this update from JConcepts driver Carter Gonzalez. This past weekend he went to the Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany, IN to race in their most recent round of their Winter points series. After the dust had settled he would finish 7th overall in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class, plus the TQ and win in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Turning south we now stop in at ROCCK Racing in Knoxville, TN for this quick update from team driver Bella Rogers. This past weekend she was competing in their Blue Collar Dollar Tour, and when the event was complete she would finish 7th overall in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class, plus netted a TQ and win in Pro 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Now we head to the coast and stop in at Sumter RC Raceway in Sumter, SC. Over the weekend they held their Toys for Tots trophy event, and team driver Marlowe Bright and his son Carter were both in attendance. Starting with Marlowe he competed in both the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes for this race. In e buggy he ran into some electronic gremlins and would have to battle his way into the A Main, but then they struck again as he had to retire early with a 9th place finish. Luck was on his side in the nitro class since he was able to finish 2nd overall! Joining him on the nitro podium were fellow JC drivers David Olsen (1st) and Rusty Mihelich (3rd)!

Carter would compete in the Sportsman 1/8 Nitro Buggy class where he would take the win!

Also racing for the team at this event was JC driver Derrick Harris. He registered for both the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes, and he would finish the event with a 10th place finish in e buggy, plus 5th overall in e truggy!

Now let’s get some updates from our Australian race team who was busy at work competing at a few different events down under. Starting with team driver Ben Panic he reported that he and his son Zac recently traveled to the Maitland Off-Road car club north of Sydney to compete in the finals for the CHRL Series.

Ben competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, and after the season points were calculated he would finish in 3rd place for both! Taking the TQs and wins in both classes at the finals was his tire teammate Lachlan Donnelly!

Lachlan would also take home the series titles in both classes as well!

Zac Panic would finish in 3rd place for the finals of the Junior Stock class, plus 2nd overall for the entire series!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Darren Johnston. This past weekend he competed at Round 2 of the Challenge Cup held at MORBC (Model Off Road Buggy Club) located in Western Australia. He competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, and after the mains were ran he would finish in 5th place!
