Race Team Update – January 2025 Week #1

Even the busy holiday season couldn’t keep the JConcepts race team from hitting the podium on tracks around the nation. Read where we have been winning at the past few weeks in this year’s first edition of the Race Team Update!

We start the report down in Hutto, TX where Thornhill Racing Circuit is located at. Just before the end of the year they held their final series race, and team driver Brian Henn would finish 5th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 2nd place in 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Turning our attention to Tennessee we now visit Knoxville where ROCCK Racing is located. They recently held their 10th Annual Disco Brawl that saw nearly 200 entries! Team driver Andrew Bishop was in attendance as he competed in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes. He would go on to finish 2nd in e buggy and grab the TQ and win in the e truggy class!

His tire teammate Jonah Wilson was also at this event, and he doubled down with two TQs and Ws in the Pro 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes!

Flying out east we stop in at Get A Hobby in Uniontown, PA for our next report. Team driver Evan Cole competed in a recent points series event where he took the win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Moving over to Missouri let’s visit a few different tracks to see how the team finished up at their recent events. Starting in Blue Springs we stop in at Fastlane Raceway who held their 2025 Kickoff trophy event to start the year. Team driver Jake Stoeltzing competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class where finished in 1st place!

Fellow JC driver Stevie Slover would TQ this class and finish 3rd, and he also grabbed another a TQ plus the win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Staying in the state we now visit Skips RC Raceway in Platte City for our next update.

There we find team driver Jeremy Cathlina who recently competed in their 1st Annual Denny Crooks Memorial Race. He would kick off the event in style as he took the win in the Sprint class!

Next, we head to the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE for this quick update from team driver David Peavler. He recently attended the 4th round of their Winter points series, and he would end the round with a 1st place finish in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy along with two TQs and wins in the Stadium Truck and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy classes!

Heading east down I-80 we make our way down to Muscatine, IA which is home to Island Speedway. Team driver Alex Rees attended their New Year’s Carpet Clash which saw 132 entries, and he would take the TQ and win in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

Heading north we now visit Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI. Team driver Ryan Derenne was keeping busy over the last weeks of 2024 as he attended two events at this track. The first event was Round 9 of their Fall points series, and he would finish 4th overall in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes!

Then the following week he was back at it for the 10th round of this series. He raced in the same two classes and he would finish 5th in truck and 3rd place in 40+ buggy! The 10th round was also a special fund raiser for local racer who sadly passed away, and the racers raised nearly $3,800 for his family!

Crossing the state line we now head to RC Underground in Warren, MN. They recently held Round 4 of their Winter points series, and team driver Marco Moreno was there to throw down fast laps in three classes.

When the round had ended he would finish 4th in both the 17.5 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck classes along with a 1st place finish in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Heading to the Pacific Northwest we now visit the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, WA. This facility was host to Round 5 of the Diehard RC Indoor Off-Road Carpet Series that saw an impressive 233 entries for the single day event! Team driver Tyler Wilbur competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, and he would finish 5th in 2wd plus he netted the TQ and win in mod wheeler!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Evan Roeth, He recently went to Round 1 of the COR Victoria 2025 Indoor Series and registered for three classes. When the event was over he would finish with the TQ in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 Stadium Truck! In the mains he had some bad luck with 4wd as he retired early with a DNF, but he had better luck in the other two classes as he drove on to take the win!
