Race Team Update – February 2025 Week #1

The opening weekend of February is another winning one for the JConcepts race team. Read all about our continued success on tracks around the nation in this week’s Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down at Beachline Raceway in Cocoa, FL for the 2nd round of their Carpet Wars series which saw 131 entries! Team driver Dalton Hashbarger was there competing in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class where he took the TQ and win!

Moving north we now stop in at Lil Cochran RC Speedway & Hobbies in Cochran, GA. Team driver Erik Everett recently competed at this track for their Speed Weeks trophy event that brought out 147 entries! He registered for the Mod Sprint class and would come home with the win!

Next, we head up the coastline to Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC. Last weekend was Beast of the East Triple Crown trophy event that saw 328 entries! Let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Ryan Caudle. He reported that he finished 4th in Mod 2wd Buggy, set the TQ and finished 2nd in Mini Truggy and he also grabbed a TQ and W in the Pro4 Short Course Truck class! Joining him on the Pro4 podium in 5th place was fellow JC driver Dave McEwen!

Dave also competed in four other classes at this race and put in great results in all of them!

  • 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy – 4th place
  • Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy – 7th place
  • Pro Mod 2wd Buggy – 5th place
  • Pro Mod 4wd Buggy – 8th place

He also retains our title of “ironman” for running the most classes at one RC event too!

Also putting down fast laps for the team at this race was JC driver Josh Parrish. He signed up for three classes, and he would finish the race with three 3rd place finishes in Expert 13.5 4wd and 17.5 2wd Buggy, plus Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy! He would also set the TQ in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class too!

His tire teammate Jose Zayas also competed in the same three classes, and he would wrap up the event with a 5th place in Expert 17.5 2wd and Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, along with a 4th place finish in the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. also competed at this race and he would finish 4th overall in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class!

JConcepts driver Derrick Harris entered into four classes at this race, and he put in some solid results over the weekend!

  • Pro4 Short Course Truck – 8th place
  • 1/8 Electric Truggy – 9th place
  • Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy – 12th place
  • Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy – 14th place

Team driver Jake Stikeleather raced in the Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy class where he finished 2nd overall to his tire teammate Maddy Long!

Speaking of Maddy, she would also finish 4th in Pro Mod 4wd Buggy, took the win in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy and she grabbed another TQ and win in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Based on he results she would also take home the Beast of the East Triple Crown award too!

JConcepts pilot Marlowe Bright and his son Carter were also at this event. Carter competed in the Sportsman 1/8 Nitro Buggy class where qualified 7th and finished the race early with a DNF. His dad threw down laps in four classes, and he would end the weekend with a 12th place finish in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy, a 9th place finish in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, 8th overall in Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy as well as a 5th place finish in 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy! Joining him on the 40+ podium was his JC teammate Danny Stockman in 3rd place!

JC driver Colton Furnari competed in two classes for this event, and he would finish 4th overall in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy, as well as a 3rd place finish in Pro Mod 4wd Buggy! Joining him on the Pro e buggy podium were teammates Maddy Long (1st) and Ryan Rand (5th)!

Heading up the coast even more we now stop in at Raced at DPRC (Dynamic Performance RC) in Littleton, NH. This past weekend they held Round 2 of their points series that saw 110 entries! Team driver Matt Perault was competing there and he would seal the deal with a win in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Making our way west to Michigan we stop in at Dirt Burner Racing in the city of Livonia. This past weekend they held their Winter Champs trophy event, and team driver Chris Rothwell reported that he finished 6th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 1st place in 17.5 2wd Buggy! Joining him on the 2wd podium were fellow JC drivers Brady Carrico (2nd) and Collin Miles (4th)!

Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway in New Franken, WI.

Team driver Ryan Derenne was throwing down fast laps at last weekend’s Round 3 of their Winter Series, and he would finish the round with a 4th place finish in Mod Stadium Truck along with 3rd place in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy!

Staying in the state we now head to Trackside Hobbies & Raceway in Brookfield for our next update. This past weekend was another round of their Saturday Night Fever series, and team driver Tyler Aubart reported that he finished 9th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 3rd place in 17.5 2wd Buggy!

Crossing the state line we now head to RC Underground in Warren, MN. Last weekend was Round 5 of their Carpet Winter Series, and JConcepts driver Marco Moreno was competing there for the team. When the racing was over he would finish 3rd in 17.5 2wd Buggy, 2nd in 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus he picked up the TQ and win in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class!

Heading down I-35 we now make our way to Traction City in Webster City, IA. Recently they held Round 4 of their points series, and team driver David Peavler was able to take wins in the Stadium Truck, Expert 17.5 and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy classes!

Next, we head west on I-80 and stop in at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE for our final reports this week. This past weekend was another round of the Plex’s 1:8 Winter Series that saw 188 entries! Team driver mason Herrick was in attendance, and he reported that he finished 10th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy after he suffered a DNF, but he bounced back in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy A Main with a 4th place finish!

His tire teammate Brandon Kearney also raced in two classes, and he would end the night with a 4th place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy, plus a 1st place finish in 1/8 Nitro Truggy!
