Race Team Update – February 2025 Week #3

The JConcepts race team shows no love to the competition as they continue to dominate them on tracks around the globe. Read more about our winning ways in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report out east at at Coastal RC Indoor Speedway and Hobbies in Chesapeake, VA. This past weekend they held their East Coast Meltdown trophy race so let’s see how the team performed starting with team driver Darren Windsor.

He reported that he finished 4th in Pro Mod 2wd Buggy along with two 2nd places in Pro Mod 4wd Buggy and Mini B, which included the TQ in the Mini B class!

Also throwing down laps on the carpet was his tire teammate Daigan Bledsoe. He would wrap up the event with a 2nd place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy along with the wins in the 13.5 4wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes! He would also set the TQ in three classes too!

Moving north we now stop in at Harrisburg, PA which was the site of this year’s 2025 Motorama. There were two different RC events taking place under one roof so let’s see how the team finished up on the off-road event first which saw 324 entries! Starting with JConcepts driver Robert Meyer Jr. he let us know that he finished 4th in Masters 1/8 Electric Buggy, set the TQ and finished 2nd in Intermediate 1/8 Electric Truggy, plus he netted the TQ and W in the Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Also competing for the team was JC driver Garrett Hawbaker. He signed up for the Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy and Buggy classes and he would finish 5th overall in the B Mains while running fast all weekend long!

Team driver Colton Furnari also competed in these same two classes and he would suffer an unfortunate DNF while leading the truggy B Main, but he was able to battle back to finish 4th in the B Main for buggy!

JConcepts pilot Daniel Sedler reported that he finished 11th in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy B Main along with 13th place in the Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy A Main!

JC driver Aaron Buran raced in two classes and he would finish in the lower mains for Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus a 3rd place finish in the Masters 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

Team driver Adam Curry competed in two classes at this race, and he would finish in the lower mains for Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy as well as a 6th place finish in Masters 1/8 Electric Buggy!

JConcepts driver Javon Mallory competed in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class, but suffered a DNF thus he was able to bump out of the lower mains, but he still has a great time running laps at this race!

JC driver Bibie Cruz competed in three separate classes at this event. He would finish in the lower mains for Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy and Masters 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus he grabbed the final podium spot in the Pro4 Short Course Truck class!

The other event taking place at Motorama was a dirt oval race that saw 376 entries making left hand turns! Team driver Matt Adams registered for two classes, and he would end the event with a 7th place finish in the B Main for the Midget Sprint class, plus a 3rd place finish in the A Main for 360 Sprint!

Continuing to the northeast we now visit T&T Hobbies in Middletown, NY. There we find team driver Larry Caputo Jr. who recently competed in their February Freeze trophy event. He signed up for two classes and would double down with TQs and wins in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes!

Moving on over to Michigan we now visit Belleville RC Club in the city of Belleville. Last weekend they held their 2025 Fuzz Brawl event, and team driver Kyle King let us know that he grabbed the TQs in the 13.5 4wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck classes along with a 2nd place finish in truck and the W in wheeler!

Working our way over to Wisconsin we now stop in at Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway in New Franken.

There we find team driver Ryan Derenne who recently competed in the 5th Round of their Winter points series, and he reports that he finished in 3rd place for both the 40+ 2wd Buggy and Mod Stadium Truck classes!

Heading down to Iowa let’s get a few updates from the team competing at different events. Starting with team driver Mike Salkowski last Saturday he traveled to Wolfram RC in Des Moines to compete in the 1st Annual Jeff Thorson Memorial Race.

He would finish 8th overall in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class along with two 7th place finishes in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy! The best news of all is that the drivers were able to raise over $5,000 in support for the grieving family too!

Our next update in the state is from JConcepts driver Jake Wiggs. Last weekend he competed in Round 2 of the Winter Series at Bad Fast Hobbies in Sioux City, and he had himself a day as he took the TQ and win in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! Joining him on the 17.5 podium was fellow JC driver Brian Cox!

Onward to Oklahoma we now catch up with team driver Brian Stanton. Last weekend he went to MOJO Hobby in Oklahoma City to race in their Icebreaker trophy race.

He competed in two classes, and he would finish 4th in the 10.5 Sprint class, plus he picked up the W in the Midget Sprint class!

Next, we fly out West to sunny California for our next report. Last Saturday team driver Chris Raceles traveled to SDRC Raceway in San Diego to compete in the opening round of their 2025 Supercross Series. He would finish the round with a TQ in 40+ 2wd Buggy, plus wins in both the 40+ 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!

Now let’s visit Island Off-Road Carpet Championship (IOCC) in Victoria BC, Canada to see how the team performed in their 3rd annual trophy event. Starting with team driver Evan Roeth he also had himself a day as he secured the TQ and wins in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, plus 13.5 Stadium Truck!

Also competing for JConcepts at this event was team driver Robert Sorjonen who finished 7th overall in Mod 2wd Buggy, plus 2nd place in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Jarod Ment. Last weekend he traveled to Adelaide, Australia to compete in the South Australian State Titles that took place there on their Astro surface, and he came back with 1st place in the Mod 4wd Buggy class!
