Friday5 With Team Driver Antonio Caputo

In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Massachusetts team driver, Antonio Caputo!

1. When and how did you get started in RC? And what class do you compete in or did you primarily bash your vehicles?

I started with RC as a fan of crawling. My first hobby grade RC vehicle was an Axial SCX10 II Honcho. My dad and I built a course in the yard and my local hobby shop has some amazing indoor and outdoor crawler courses.

2. What classes do you enjoy to compete in today? Is there another class you would like to see comeback or increase in popularity so you could compete in it as well?

Today I race Expert 2wd 17.5 and 4wd 13.5 buggy classes. When I first started racing it was Short Course Truck and I love how realistic they look and I wish they would make a comeback.

3. In your opinion what is your biggest personal win to date and why?

My biggest win to date would be the 2021 US Carpet Off Road Championships in Cleveland. I was able to get the TQ and the championship in Stadium Truck and that is where Team Associated asked me to join the team.

4. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?

I love all the JConcepts products I use, but my favorite is probably the F2 bodies. I love how they look.

5. Obviously you are into RC racing but what other activities do you find enjoyment with?

I was a decent baseball player from the age of 4 up until 13. I love Supercross and any type of off-road racing and playing my Xbox when I can.
