Race Team Update – April 2025 Week #2

Another solid week of racing is in the books for the month of April, and it looks like there is no stopping the success of the JConcepts race team in 2025! Read about our continued winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report down at Newberry RC Park in Newberry, FL. This track hosted Round 3 of the 1:10 Electric Off-Road Florida RC Championships so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. He reported that he would double down at this round with the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck classes! Joining him on the 17.5 2wd podium were fellow JC drivers Edwin McTureous (2nd), Jader Lopez (3rd) and Zachary Schmidt (5th)!

Moving along the Atlantic coast we now make our way to Virginia R/C Motorsports in Richmond, VA. That past weekend was the 2nd round of their points series, and team driver Tyler Pittman put in solid work in multiple classes!

  • Young Guns – TQ and 1st place
  • Mini – 8th place
  • Mega – 8th place
  • Retro – 12th place
  • ProMod – 13th and 14th place
  • 2.2 – 16th place

He also earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week for competing in the most classes at a single RC event too!

Turning west we now head over to Crossville, TN where the RC Farm is located at.

This past weekend was their season opener, and JC driver Andrew Bishop was ready to roll as he would take the TQ and win in both the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes!

Moving over to Missouri we now visit Childress RC Racing in the city of Bourbon. This past weekend was another monster truck event, and JConcepts driver Mike Bufka was ready to crush the competition as he took the win in Pro Mod bracket 2!

Next, we head north to see how the team finished up at the recent U.S. Buggy Championship held at Trackside Hobbies & Raceway in Brookfield, WI that saw 166 entries! Starting with team driver Gavin Moeller he let us know that he would finish 10th overall in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

JC pilot Tyler Aubart would finish 10th in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 8th overall in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

JConcepts driver Noah Ward would compete in three classes at this event and finish with some solid results!

  • 13.5 4wd Buggy – 4th place
  • Mod 2wd Buggy – 6th place
  • 17.5 2wd Buggy – 7th place

Team driver Chris Rothwell would finish 11th overall in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, along with a 3rd place finish in 40+ 2wd Buggy!

Staying in Wisconsin we now visit Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway in the city of New Franken. Last Saturday was another round of their point series, and team driver Richie Peters would double up in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes with two TQs and Ws!

Now we head south towards Webster City, IA where Traction City RC is located at. This past weekend was their points series finals, and after the series points were calculated team driver David Peavler would take the titles in the 40+ and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes along with 13.5 Stadium Truck! His son Jayme would also take home the hardware in the 17.5 Intermediate 2wd Buggy class too!

Sending it south to Texas we stop in at Thornhill Racing Circuit in Hutto. Last weekend they held their Texas Shootout trophy event that saw 185 entries!

Team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. was at this race and he would finish 10 in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy and 4th place in Expert 1/8 Electric Truggy!

Also throwing down fast laps for the team was JC driver Todd Geary. He would sign up for two classes and finish 10th in Expert 1/8 Nitro Truggy and 8th place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Continuing west we now stop in at Pikes Peak RC Arena in Colorado Springs, CO. This past weekend they held their Alpine Off-Road Carpet Championships so let’s see how the team finished starting with team driver Rob Sturghill. He would register for two classes and finish 8th in Mod 2wd Buggy and 3rd place in 13.5 Stadium Truck!

His tire teammate Zeke Ballinger was also at this race and he would take the double TQ and win in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes! Joining him on the Mod 4wd podium in 3rd place was team driver Rob Katnich!

Flying out to sunny California we get this quick update from team driver Chris Raceles. Last weekend he went to SDRC Raceway in San Diego for Round 4 of their Supercross Series. He competed in two classes and he would end the day with a 2nd place finish in 40+ 4wd Buggy, plus the TQ and win in the 40+ 2wd Buggy class!

Now let’s get some updates from our Australian team who was back in action competing at the recent King of the Valley 1/8 nitro event that was held at the Maitland Off-Road Radio Control Car Club which is located about 2 hours north of Sydney. Starting with team driver Jarod Ment he would start 3rd overall for the 30 minute 1/8 Nitro Buggy final then race on to take the win while lapping the entire field!

His JConcepts teammate Ben Panic was also at this event and he would finish 4th overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

His son Zac would also lock up 2nd place in the Juniors class too!
