Race Team Update – June 2025 Week #4

The fourth week of racing in June is another successful one for the JConcepts race team as they continue to collect wins around the nation! Read about our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report in the upper northwest for Round 2 of the WERC series at Diehard RC in Snohomish, WA that brought out 216 entries! Team driver Shane Preugschat was competing in this 1/8 only event, and he would finish up with a 6th place finish in Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy, a 3rd place finish in 1/8 Nitro Truggy and 2nd place in 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy!

Crossing the state line we make our way to Metz RC Raceway in Blackfoot, ID.

They recently held their Independence Day Shootout trophy event, and team driver Shane Wheeler was putting in work as he competed in five classes with excellent results!

  • Late Model = TQ and 1st place
  • Midget Spring = TQ and 1st place
  • Midwest Modified = TQ and 1st place
  • Open Sprint = TQ and 2nd place
  • SC Mod = DNF

He also earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week for competing in the most classes at one event!

Making our way to South Dakota we now catch up with team driver Marco Moreno. He recently competed at Dakota RC in city of Jamestown for Round 3 of their Summer Series. When the dust had settled he would finish up with a 3rd place finish in 1/8 Electric Truggy, 2nd place finish in 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus the TQ and W in the Mini Truggy class!

Continuing east we now stop in at FTR (Full Throttle RC) Raceway in Foley, MN. They recently held a trophy race and team driver Tyler Aubart would finish 3rd in 1/8 Electric Buggy along with a TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Making our way south to Missouri we check in with the team to see how they finished up at the recent trophy event held at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs that saw 122 entries! Starting with team driver Alex Sturgeon he reported that he would finish 5th overall in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, plus he grabbed the TQ and win in the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class!


His son and JConcepts team driver Emerson Sturgeon would grab 4th place in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! Joining him on the podium were fellow JConcepts drivers Jake Stoeltzing (2nd) and Drew Rubenking (5th)!

Kicking it over to Kansas we stop in at Emery Park RC Raceway in the city of Wichita to see how the team finished up at Round 4 of the Kansas State Championship Series. Team driver Colton Jones reported that he took the win in the Sportsman 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

His dad and fellow JC driver Jerm Jones would grab the TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class!

Over to Oklahoma now we get our next update from JC driver Tyler Keel. He recently competed at Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon for Round 4 of their points series.

He competed in the Open Sprint class and would end the night with a TQ and 2nd place finish!

Making our way to Mississippi we stop in at Saratoga-Flowood RC Raceway in the city of McGee. Last weekend they held their Bring The Heat trophy race, and team drivers William Ables and Phi-Long Nguyen were cooking as they finished one and two on the 1/8 Electric Buggy podium!

Continuing east we now visit Savannah, GA where Phil Hurd Raceway is located at. This track was host to the 2025 ROAR Region 3 1/10 Off-Road Regional Championship so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Jason Westfall. He registered for the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would wrap up the event with a 3rd place finish in 2wd and a 2nd place finish in 4wd!

Also competing there for the team was JC driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. He competed in three classes and put in some solid results!

  • 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • Mod Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st place
  • Pro2 Short Course Truck = TQ and 1st place

Moving up the coastline we now visit ERC (Easley R/C Complex) Raceway in Easley, SC. They recently held their Star Spangled Shootout and team driver Ennis Graves finished 4th overall in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class!

Our next stop is the state of Virginia that had a few different RC events taking place. Starting with PLRC (Power Line R/C) in Fredericksburg, VA, we catch up with team drivers Brian Miskolczi and Layton Miskolczi. They competed in their Shootout event and would finish one and two in the Electric 1/8 Buggy Class!

Our next update is from Pete’s Pro RC Raceway and Training Facility in the town of Danville. They recently held their East Coast Championship event, and team driver Maddy Long would finish 4th in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and 1st place in Pro 1/8 Nitro Truggy, while her father and team driver Rusty Mihelich locked up the 2nd podium spot in Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy!

Next, we visit New Jersey for some updates from the team competing at different RC events. Starting with team driver Jason Csontos he competed last weekend in the RC10Talk.com Vintage Shootout held at Insanity Race Track in the city of Boonton. He competed in three classes and was able to take home hardware in all of them!

  • 2wd Buggy = 2nd place finish
  • Y2K 2wd Buggy = 3rd place finish
  • Stadium Truck = 3rd place finish

Our next stop in the state is at Cruizin with RC’s in the town of Waldwick. Last weekend they held their NJ BBQ Blast trophy event, and team driver David Longaker was turning up the heat on the competition as he finished 2nd in Mod 4wd Buggy and 1st place in 13.5 4wd Buggy!

Our final update this weekend comes to us courtesy of team driver Eric Bresnahan. Last weekend he went to RC Madness in Enfield, CT to compete in two different events. On Saturday he competed in an on-road event and finished 2nd in 25.5 Touring Car and 1st place in the Losi NASCAR Spec class! On Sunday he ran some off-road on their turf track, and he would finish 7th overall in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class along with a 1st place finish in Mod Stadium Truck!
