Race Team Update – December 2025 Week #1

A new month begins but it is the same old story as the JConcepts race team continues to stack up wins around the nation. Read all about it in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!

We start this week’s report up in the Pacific Northwest. Team driver Tyler Wilbur recently competed in Round 2 of the Diehard Indoor Off-Road series that was held in Duvall, WA. He competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and took home the TQ and win!

Also competing for the team in the Mod 2wd Buggy class was his teammate Aaron Brooks who would net himself a TQ and W!

Sending it south to sunny California we now get a few updates from the team competing at different RC events. Starting with team driver Michael Letcher this past weekend he attended the So Cal RC Monster Truck racing series Winter Finals held at the Boneyard in the city of Menifee.

After the series had wrapped up he would take home 1st place in the points series for the Retro class!

Our next stop in the state is at SpeedLot RC Raceway in Ramona. This past weekend was their Turkey trophy race that had to be rescheduled to a later date. Team driver Don Vinkemulder competed in the Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy class where he would take the TQ and win!

Crossing the state line we now visit Whip It RC in Reno, NV. Team driver Randy Tanaka recently visited this facility to compete in their 3rd annual Griswold Classic. He raced in three classes and absolutely torched the field like Clark Griswold torched the neighborhood power grid with 25,000 imported Italian twinkle lights!

  • Mod Mini Truggy = TQ and 1st place
  • Mod Vintage Rear Motor 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st place
  • 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy = 1st place

Shooting over to Texas we now get a few updates from the team competing in different events. Our first report is from team drivers Colton and Jerm Jones. This past weekend they both attended the 25th Annual Grinch Grand Prix held at Amarillo Raceway Park in the town of Amarillo. This event brought in over 100 entries and Colton would finish 3rd in the Intermediate 1/8 Electric Buggy class!

His father and fellow team driver Jerm would lock up 2nd place in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class! Joining him on the podium in 4th place was fellow JC pilot John Kallies!

Our second update from the state was submitted by team driver Todd Geary. Round 5 of the MSM Southern Showdown Series took place at Thornhill Racing Circuit in Hutto, and he would finish 4th overall in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class!

Moving north we stop in at the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE. This past weekend was Round 2 of their 1/8 Winter Series so let’s see how the team finished up starting with team driver Brandon Kearney. He let us know that he competed in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes, and he would finish the round with a 7th place finish in buggy and 2nd overall in truggy!

JC pilot Mitchell Pavel raced in the Expert 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes where he finished 7th in e buggy and 4th in nitro buggy!

Also competing in these same two classes was JC driver Mason Herrick. He would lock up 2nd place in nitro buggy and 1st place in e buggy! Joining him on the e buggy podium in 2nd place was his tire teammate Andrew Thomas!

JConcepts driver Chad Rubenking signed up for the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Truggy classes, and when the dust had settled he would finish 7th in the nitro class and 1st place in e truggy!

Team driver Conner Herrick competed in three classes at this most recent round, and he would end the day with a 18th place finish in Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy, 11th place finish in Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 6th overall in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class!

Our next stop is at the RC Underground in Warren, MN. Last weekend they held Round 3 of their Winter Series, and team driver Marco Moreno would wrap up the day with a 5th place finish in 17.5 2wd Buggy, 4th overall in 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus the TQ and W in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class!

Crossing the state line once again we now make our way to The Toy Box R/C Track in New Richmond, WI. They recently held their December Dash Trophy Race, and team driver Austin Jacobson entered in two classes. When the racing was done he would finish 6th in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy along with a TQ and W in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!

Also competing for the team at this event was JC driver Thor Ott. He would grab the TQ and win in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class, and taking 3rd place in this class was team driver Tony Sletten!

Moving south we now visit ‘the land of Lincoln’ for our next update.

This past weekend team driver Wes Miravalle attended Round 1 of the Winter Carpet Off-Road Series held at Alpha RC Raceways in the city of Carbondale where he would finish 3rd overall in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Heading east we now stop in Pennsylvania for our next team report. Team driver JJ Eaton attended the Central PA Monster Truck series last weekend for some monster truck racing action. He competed in the ProMod, Challlenger and SportMod classes and would finish 2nd overall in all of them!

Heading to the upper Northeast we now visit DPRC (Dynamic Performance R/C) Littleton, NH. Last weekend was their Holiday Bash trophy event, and team driver Matt Perault was ready to roll as he would set the TQ in the Mod 2wd Buggy class then race on to finish 1st overall, plus pick up another win in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class!

Heading down the coastline we now visit Virginia RC Motorsports In Ashland, VA.

This past weekend they held a round of their Winter Points Series, and team driver Tyler Pittman raced in four classes with great results!

  • Young Gunz – TQ and 2nd place
  • Mini – 11th place
  • Promod – 12th and 15th place
  • Retro – 14th place

He also earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week too for competing in the most classes at one RC event!

Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of team driver Robert Meyer Jr. This past weekend he went to Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC to compete in Round 4 of their Super Seven Series where he set the TQ and finished 1st in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!
