Ryan Maifield takes Pro 1/8th buggy at Sidewinder Nitro Explosion with JConcepts.

Each year racers gather in Southern California for the annual Sidewinder Nitro Explosion. For the 8th annual, the event was hosted by ARC Raceway in Temecula, CA. A beautiful track for all scales of vehicles and a fresh layout for the event made racing competitive all weekend.
Ryan Maifield quickly rose to the top of the field in the Pro 1/8th buggy class by first taking the overall TQ on Sunday afternoon with 2 great finishes placing him out front for the feature A-final Sunday evening.
The A-final came during the evening, racers made their final tuning adjustments and specifically Maifield went from his TQ Crossbows tire combination to his trusty Hybrids in green compound.
It didn’t take long for Maifield to stretch a slight lead on Ryan Cavalieri which allowed for a slight cruising speed as a savvy race leader. Cavalieri made a small charge and dipped into the lead gap pushing Maifield. It wasn’t long before Maifield once again took command with powerful laps of his own and nifty, smooth and consistent fuel stops courtesy of Jake Thayer. Ryan Maifield crossed for another big win in 2011. Ryan Cavalieri finished 2nd and Ty Tessman 3rd.
