Neo12 – JConcepts Arrives

Neo12 – Travel
By: John Piant

JConcepts has hit the road, well, more air than road, but I am on my way to Neo12. Located at Harper Adams University near Birmingham, England. The trip has had it’s hiccups so far, with a group of us meeting in Dallas, Texas, the day after tornado’s went through the area. I didn’t see any damage looking out of the window on my arrival into Dallas but the effects of the storm have been felt. Delayed flights, damaged planes from the previous days events, all had a toll on our trip.

Finally arriving into London a few hours late, our adventure now included rush hour traffic on a holiday weekend, making our three hour drive, a bit longer.

Once on site of this years race, a quick trip around the parking lot outside of the race building saying ‘hi’ to new friends, and some old ones. Most racers soon settled into their room, the campus dorms right across the parking lot from the track building.
The track, which is a temporary circuit housed inside a building used for the engineering of soil, looks much more American than I was expecting. Some elevation, a few technical jumps, and a split lane. The drivers are ready for controlled practice to begin on Friday.

Check in for more from England, as the weekend progresses.
